👀UPDATED HOME RUN TOTALS👀
Pretty bonkers home run total update for the 2023 season. Through the same number of weeks.
2023: 16,649 HRs, 2.25 Per Game
2022: 14,452 HRs, 1.99 PG
2021: 10,744 HRs, 1.71 PG
2019: 10,630 HRs, 1.46 PG
And lastly happy to continue the hitters and pitchers of the week based on OPS and pitching game score. Did some offseason work to automate these as much as possible to allow for consistency.
This season we were able to deliver 50 image charts and many other data points along the way. Thrilled to be nearing 6,000 followers. Thank you for following along! Here are some of the favorites from the season:
Tonight’s attendance (24,052) IS the highest ever for a CWS Finals game 3.
This is also the highest attendance ever for the Finals overall.
And the 361,711 attendance for the entire CWS is also a record.
Certainly, the @HailStateBB presence was a big factor here.
After getting beat in game one @HailStateBB outscored Vanderbilt 22-2 in the next two games to take home the schools first ever National Championship in any sport. #NCAAbaseball#CWSFinals#OmaDawgs
Mississippi St hasn't given up 7 runs in the first inning since May 8, 2019 against Memphis. They ended up winning that game by one run. #NCAAbaseball#CWS#CWS21
... Teams submit official 27-player #CWS rosters. Of the 54 combined players from the final teams Vandy/MsSt, 36 come from home states in southeast or Texas.
