I put together a service dependency diagram based on what has been mentioned in today's AWS outage, along with Monday's, and one from Nov 25, 2020 with color coding based on which outage mentioned the dependency.
What is AWS?
Des Moines Register: "It's similar to Google Drive, where companies deploy their websites and programs without having to pay for servers and infrastructure, which could be expensive. Instead, companies pay a monthly subscription fee to Amazon."
Umphrey’s has always taken pride in approaching cover songs with the same creativity and precision as their originals. For their cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Wish,” the lighting design was crafted to honor the energy and intensity of the original performances while still feeling true to an Umphrey’s show.
Because “Wish” follows a strict form without improvisation, a detailed cue list was built, inspired by videos of Nine Inch Nails’ live shows. Every hit, bump, and riff was programmed as a simple “Go+,” creating a thrilling, rapid-fire sequence to operate. Keeping the K20 B-Eyes in the design ensured the look remained consistent with an Umphrey’s show rather than a direct replication.
The programming even included cues with colorful labels that unleashed full-force white strobes at the song’s most aggressive moments. To protect the crew during rehearsals, the master fader was kept at around 10%—though the crew likely still felt the impact (S/O Bob, Louie, Chris and Robbie).
This project was also a technical milestone, as it was built entirely in MA3 mode 3. The recipe-based cue list proved far easier to create, edit, and maintain than in mode 2, ensuring a cleaner workflow for whenever the song makes its way back into rotation.

“Model collapse is ‘basically that LLMs are continuing to continue to scrape this stuff, train on it and then learn stupid stuff that other LLMs spit out, rather than a real ground truth of the world. That’s a real, proper scenario that is going to happen very, very soon.’”
Perhaps the most valuable 15 minutes of your day.
The insights dropped by @ranman in this short video warrant a few moments of your time, whether you're building #genai apps or not.
Are you at the @aiDotEngineer World’s Fair today? If so, join us in the Fortune 500 track! Caylent’s CTO, Randall Hunt, will be taking the stage at 2:20pm with his session: “POC to PROD: Hard Lessons from 200+ Enterprise GenAI Deployments.” 🚀
Drawing from hundreds of real-world implementations, Randall will unpack what it takes to scale GenAI systems from concept to production. He’ll explore lessons learned across three key application areas: multimodal understanding and search, enterprise knowledge retrieval, and AI agent architectures.
If you're looking to move beyond experimentation and deliver GenAI with impact, this session is for you.

MIND-BENDING 🧠
1954: A scientist created a tank to "turn off" reality.
He stayed in it for 48 hours with:
• No light
• No sound
• No gravity
What he discovered?
The CIA classified it as "too dangerous for humanity":
