Effective today, all residential pile burning requires a permit in Nevada County. Permits must be in possession. If you applied for a permit prior to today, that permit is now expired! Permits are valid May 1st of each year, require annual renewal and are issued free of charge.

Water levels on the South Yuba River are rising very quickly. Just yesterday, the water was flowing at around 635 cubic feet per second. Today, water flow is at approximately 4300 cubic feet per second. Stay away from the shoreline. The parking area is closed at Highway 49.
