Dina Pule? ANC tradition trumps right and wrong? How did she leave parliament the first time? Here is a reminder:

July 2013, President Zuma removed her as Minister of Communications. Even by Zuma's low standards, she was not fit for office.

A parliamentary ethics inquiry subsequently found that she had breached Parliament's Code of Ethical Conduct. Pule had failed to disclose material aspects of her relationship with Phosane Mngqibisa, enabling him to benefit improperly from government-related activities. She also misled the inquiry on key facts.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela issued a report finding that Pule had acted unlawfully and unethically, concluding that she had "persistently" misled investigators and recommending that she apologise and repay public funds spent on Mngqibisa's travel.

And today, 13 years later, @CyrilRamaphosa thinks this doesn't matter. It matters to many voters and you can not wish us away.

"That woman in the pic guys. Her name is Puleng. She works at the Vereeniging license department. She's helping people who pay tjotjo. I was there yesterday to do my PRDP.

I got there at 9. I was helped at 13:30.she was bringing people from outside and pushed them in front of the queue.

The other guy said to me that he gave her something to drink and she helped him quickly. So clearly if you don't have tjotjo you won't get help. Today I must go back because I was told the system is giving problems, simply because I didn't pay anything. But after I was told that I saw them continue working.

This is a tragically sad read from an unemployed Eastern Cape graduate. She writes to premier Mabuyane who has designs on becoming the ANC deputy president to challenge him for what the ANC has done to the Eastern Cape. What a shame!

Open Letter to the Honourable Premier Oscar Mabuyane

Dear Honourable Premier Oscar Mabuyane,

I write this open letter to you and your leadership team as a young graduate born and raised in the Eastern Cape. Like many other young people from our province, I was forced to leave my home not because I wanted to, but because I had no choice. Despite applying for countless opportunities in the Eastern Cape, I received no responses, no feedback, and no hope. Despite my qualifications and willingness to work, the only response I ever received was from the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Today, I am based in Cape Town, trying to survive. But survival here comes at a painful
cost,emotionally, socially, and financially.

Recently, I experienced a deeply humiliating incident at a shopping mall while standing in a queue at a money market. A woman openly complained that the line was long “because of people from the Eastern Cape.” I was questioned about my identity and stated that I am a Xhosa woman from the Eastern Cape. What followed was painful but revealing. I was told that “Xhosa people come to Cape Town to take jobs, houses, and overcrowd schools.”

She was sober. This was not a joke. This was raw discrimination.

This experience forced me to reflect on a painful truth: our presence in other provinces has become a source of resentment, not because we want to leave our homes, but because our province has failed to provide us with opportunities to stay.

We leave the Eastern Cape because jobs are scarce, corruption is rampant, and service delivery is collapsing. Roads are in poor condition, hospitals lack resources, schools are under-equipped, and graduates remain unemployed while posts are advertised and quietly filled. Municipalities continue to fail, and accountability is rare. The youth watch opportunities pass by while tenders and employment benefit the same connected few.

In other provinces, we demand what we cannot access at home: work, education, housing, and dignity. But here, the cost of living is extremely high. Our salaries barely cover rent, transport, and food. There is no comfort, no stability, and no sense of belonging. We are not happy here we are merely surviving.

The painful irony is that while other provinces are able to unite and fight for their rights, Eastern Cape youth are scattered across the country, exhausted and disconnected, unable to stand together and demand change at home.

Premier, I fear that one day we will be chased out of these provinces blamed for problems we did not create simply because our home failed us. This is not just about racism; it is about the consequences of neglect, corruption, and poor governance in the Eastern Cape.

I am asking you this please fix our home

Fight corruption relentlessly.
Create real job opportunities for the youth.
Ensure transparency in recruitment processes.
Invest in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development.
Give the youth of the Eastern Cape a reason to believe, to stay, and to build.

We do not want to be migrants in our own country.
We want dignity in our own province.
