[F]armers are struggling with difficult conditions and with high costs associated with the Iran war. In North Carolina, farmers are also grappling with a drought.

What you fail to mention is that the General Assembly passed a stop-gap budget bill in August 2025 which included funding for critical items like ADM enrollment for public schools, the DMV, $600M in Medicaid rebase, and 50% of your caucus voted AGAINST it.
I helped “lead a process” that resulted in the largest teacher pay raise in two decades. Your caucus didn’t want to fight for teachers, instead you wanted to settle early for a 1.5% teacher raise. That was unacceptable to House Republicans, and we kept fighting.
But no surprise - when Dems were last in charge of the state budget, you CUT teacher pay.
I think it’s about time for you to sit down. #ncpol
What @ErinforNC fails to mention is that this budget is nearly a year late.
As budget chair, she helped lead a process that left North Carolina as the only state in the country without a new budget in 2025.
That's not smart. It's not serious. And it certainly isn't common sense. #ncpol
@NCHouseGOP bill carries changes to NC election law. It's "House Bill 958." Some on the Right love its terms. The Left is bombarding social media w/ warnings of doom. Read the bill. But time's running out in Raleigh. Here's Rep. @sarahcrawfordnc on State Lines
1,000: Days since the #NCGA passed a comprehensive budget
352: Days since a new budget was due, July 1 of last year
37: Days since House and Senate Republicans announced a budget deal (framework)
North Carolinians deserve leadership that is doing the job. #ncpol
Congratulations to the Canes on a thrilling Stanley Cup victory! The Canes brought all of North Carolina together and proved again that Raleigh is a hockey town. I look forward to celebrating with the team back in Raleigh at the People’s House.
Let’s go, Canes!

We’re offering solutions — they don’t get heard.
You can’t refuse to hear our bills and then say we’re not offering solutions.
@NCHouseDems are committed to lowering costs while under Republican leadership, they’ve soared and are getting higher. #ncpol#ncga
NC Dems haven't learned a thing.
Every session, they oppose common-sense legislation in favor of pandering to their progressive puppet masters.
The House GOP is delivering results for NC by fighting for safer communities, stronger schools, and putting more money back in the pockets of hard-working families.
The contrast couldn't be clearer.
“This bill prevents us from retiring aging coal facilities and will hurt ratepayers by making their power bills more expensive.” -- Rep. @LoftonforNC#ncpol#ncga

Today, @NCHouseDems unveiled a slate of policies that would restore North Carolinians’ confidence in our judicial system and the separation of powers. Our courts should be held to the highest standard and your government should be transparent. #ncpol#ncga
As Attorney General, part of my job is to protect consumers.
That includes your energy bill.
So today, I’m formally opposing Duke’s proposed 15% increase.
Our case is over 700 pages, but here’s the short version:
[NEW] What the 2026 election holds in store
Evidence is mounting that the 2026 election will be a "blue wave." In North Carolina, the generic ballot average, taken from a wide range of statewide polling, currently sits around D+4 - and there's still five months before the election.
Due to pervasive Republican partisan gerrymandering, North Carolina's state legislature is heavily artificially slanted against the Democrats. Even still, a significant wave election is highly likely to flip a number of seats. The Carolina Forward team developed a new widget, hosted on our website, that allows users to model a range of scenarios to estimate the likely outcomes.
