@LionBlogosphere You might not agree, but there is value in being away from home. For a lot of kids, college is the on-ramp to living life without parents and being responsible for themselves.
If I had the money, I would have happily gone to school out-of-state.
@madebyskovie@thattallguy Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but I reject even describing what you’ve done as “creating”. AI might be generative, but it can’t create.
Creating is an act of novelty. There’s nothing novel about what AI generates.
@dereko33x@annullifier@chrisgpt But what value does efficiency have?
That’s not a sarcastic question. I’m genuinely curious why we want to be more efficient? Why should we want everything to be faster?
@tomieinlove It doesn’t make sense at $10, but it does make sense at $30,000 (for a car) or $250,000 (for a house).
Loans are practical when the cost of something exceeds your current cash position but, when broken down into bite-size chunks, can be paid off over time.
@chuck11879@PipesMcghee@DonChed54 I agree. And it’s not just Kahn or Colbert, it’s the team of scouts and support staff they assemble too. It’s a little crazy to me that folks want Kahn gone when him and Weidl have done such a stellar job drafting..
@PipesMcghee@chuck11879@DonChed54 It’s flipped entirely since Kahn took over though. Our drafts have dramatically improved. Did Tomlin concede power? Or did he never have that power in the first place?
@WillJiles@TraiDay79 I won’t argue about his playoff record over the last decade, but Bill Belichick didn’t have a coaching tree either and the player development argument has always been ridiculous: AB, Mike Wallace, TJ, Cam, JPJ, Pouncey, Villanueva, Bell, Decastro, Shazier, James Connor, etc.
@MichaelMax4659@TraiDay79 I have never watched that man and thought he came off as arrogant or imperious. Interesting read. He came from a fairly blue collar part of Virginia - graduated from the same high school as my Dad.
Not a lot of arrogance in that part of the country.
Kyle Shanahan and the head coaches from the Kyle Shanahan tree really struggle with game management.
I definitely think a lot of it has to do with them being so fixated and dialed in on calling plays, so they struggle to have a feel for other important things throughout the game.
Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Matt LaFluer, Mike McDaniel. All struggle with game management.
@TheGypsyVan@TommyJaggi They didn’t have Queen on Flowers. Flowers crossed through Queen’s zone in the middle of the field. When Jackson scrambled, Flowers took off vertically and Queen knew there was no safety help in the middle of the field and tried to keep up.
@chrisbrockman He wasn’t? He had middle of the field and when Lamar scrambled, he smartly followed Zay Flowers when he took off up the field. It was never his responsibility to follow Zay all over the place, he just tried his best on a broken play.
@calvazul@cc33_rl@loveiceprincesz That the question isn’t new does not mean it has been adequately answered.
Though I suppose what it really comes down to is irreconcilable differences between the world I have observed and the nature of the world as described by Christianity.
