@Femi_MORE@epalyHarcourt@ColinUdoh She played TWO matches and scored a goal in each of the TWO matches. She scored the same number of goals in the same number of matches she played. The phrase 'in as many games' is common in football writing. There is no negative connotation in the way Colin used it here.
@chukaobi I think it was the jersey used after Senegal 92, but before Tunisia and US '94. Okwaraji never wore this jersey. So, it wouldn't be 88/89. And the Algiers '90 jersey was similar to the Maroc '88 jersey.
@chukaobi Same here. Mexico 86 was my first, too. I remember one of the group matches, Morocco vs W. Germany. Tough match. Nzaki, Morocco's gk was too good that day. W.G. later wone with a freekick. The final between Argentina 3- 2 W.G was tough too. Maradona and Rummenigge showed class.
@chukaobi I can still see in my mind's eyes Thompson Oliha, Ishaya Jatau and Isaac Semitoje on this jersey in one of those matches in 1993. The design became popular after one team wore it in Euro 92 won by Denmark.
@Xtopherewesi He was in their 1995 U-17 squad that won the World Cup, with Idirissu Abu, Amaniampong and Issaka Awudu. The other three did not fulfill their potentials. Awudu was the MVP of the tournament.
@chukaobi Abedi-Yeboah rivalry frustrated their football in d 1990s. Tony Baffoe ws my top player of d era . Players of their '95 U-17 team – Iddrisu Abu, Issaka Awudu, Stephen Appiah, et al. – didn't shine in Europe like Lamptey, D. Addo, Osei Kuffour, Yaw Preko, Mohammed Gargo of '91 set
@Xtopherewesi@Nandikinggg@ebelyme I thought Osmond Ezinwa would complete the quartet, but I was surprised to see late Kayode (RIP), who was more of a 200m specialist – and he did so well. I think Imoh (expectedly, per his age) was the slow coach in the race. Mike Marsh for the US was also a surprise.
@OBarthC@Xtopherewesi Imoh was in the 1984, 1988 and 1992 Olympics. He was the star and dominated African 100 metres for almost a decade. Imoh and Innocent Egbunike were Nigeria's elite athletes in the 1980s. Special mention to Sunday Uti, Henry Amike (400m Hurdles) and Ajayi Agbebaku (Tripple Jump).
@odogwuaro@EricChimara@olisaemeka_G@chukdy64 Like Emeka Ezeugo, Emenalo is Aba - born. But, he is from Eziachi in Orlu, Imo State. Only Uche Okechukwu (Obi Ngwa) and Ben Iroha (Ohafia) in the 1994 set are from Abia. Amuneke (Owerri), Aloy Agu (Mbano), Emeka Ezeugo (Ideato) and Emenalo are from Imo. A little research can do.
