"The City of Atlanta administration has a choice: continue facilitating these attacks on our civil rights for political & economic gains, or condemn them." - Susi Durán, National Lawyers Guild Atlanta chair https://t.co/OarOFUHKnl
SCHR is reaching out to attorneys representing people named in the indictment & locating attorneys for those without counsel. Our current priority: ensure those indicted are released on bond, esp. given the horrendous culture at the Fulton Jail where 9 people have died this year.
NLG law student Jamie was arrested in an unjust mass arrest at a #StopCopCity solidarity event.
In response, Jamie's school brought disciplinary action against her.
We're asking individuals & orgs to join us in calling for UNC to reverse these actions: https://t.co/GaSg7zazqD
Free Jamie!
Jamie was among the 23 arrested on 3/5 in the WPP. Please send funds I’d you can support with legal fees and needs while she’s incarcerated.

“We are pleased that the DeKalb County assistant district attorney agreed to a consent bond for Tom Jurgens. … We are confident that the evidence will demonstrate he was a peaceful legal observer.”

Just because the law says you have those rights does not always mean that the police will respect them.
By using your rights, you can make it harder for police to use your own statements or anything found on you during a search as evidence against you during a trial.
Don’t film or photograph anyone without their consent, don’t livestream your protest don’t post photos or vids where anyone is identifiable. This kind of footage has never cleared anyone, but often becomes incriminating when used by cops/prosecutors.
NLG will be out this weekend! In case of arrests please call 919-627-7483
