TWICE AS NICE 🏆🏆 #NHLAwards
Nick Suzuki surprised Cole Caufield with the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy before Caufield surprised Suzuki with the Frank J. Selke Trophy. 😂
The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy is awarded for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct and the Frank J.Selke Trophy is awarded to the top defensive forward.
Cause it's not as simple as feeling sad, it's like a persistent annoying filter that keeps forcing you to see the world in gray even in happy or peaceful moments, a voice that keeps telling you that nothing matters. No point speaking about it when all it does is complicate things
I'm pretty upset with how the Gally situation unfolded in the playoffs, especially considering how clear it was that he was gonna be on his way out.
They had ample opportunities to play him limited minutes in the Carolina series when the series was dead and they never did it.
#Habs Brendan Gallaher on his message to the fans: "just 'thank you'. They've embraced what I am as a player, they appreciated me - I just tried to give them everything I had every single night..."
“It’s clear I’ll be moving on from here.”
Oh, Gally. You will be my guy forever and ever. Forever my favorite player. Thank you for everything. You deserved better. Should have retired a Hab. Hab for life. Love you.
That was an incredible rookie season by Jakub Dobeš! This is just the beginning for him!
42 starts in the regular season: 29-10-4 (most rookie goalie wins), 2.78 GAA, .901 SV% (made 1070 saves)
19 straight starts in the playoffs: 9-10, 2.66 GAA, .908 SV% (made 512 saves)
Before the regular season began, the thought was the #Habs should be a playoff team but likely competing for a wildcard spot...
Montreal finished with 106 points, had a 51 goal-scorer and a 101-point getter + advanced to the Eastern Conference Final
While there will be disappointment in how the #Habs season came to an end, let’s not forget to appreciate what the experiences [both good & bad] of this playoff run will have on the young core as they’re just entering their window to be competitive in the #NHL for years to come.
Yes this loss will sting so much but I’m so so incredibly proud of this team and the insane progress they’ve made from last year, we’ve overachieved so much and we’re not even in our prime or done rebuilding yet #IBELIEVE 🥹💙🤍❤️
i can’t even be upset at the players i mean it’s obvious they’re extremely exhausted and im lowkey scared of the potential injury list but holy fuck i wish we lost this series in a different way. that being said im still extremely proud of every hab. the future is ours
also don’t twist this because i don’t think anyone should be fired over it like we live and we learn. but i do think that not making any changes after game 2 was Interesting, making none after game 3 was eyebrow raising, and making none for today was unacceptable.
I think two things can be true, Carolina has an insane team, and the Habs made no adjustments again for the 4th game in a row.
They talked a lot but nothing showed, there’s obviously lots of circumstances but getting dog walked like that with very minimal adjustments in the ECF is something.
No matter what, Gallagher has been and will always be a crucial part of this team. A true leader and example of how to play with your entire heart- he’s stuck by the Habs, mentored these young players, and rallied when they needed it most. Gally, you will always be so loved❤️
the disappointment i feel after being vulnerable is not rooted in the act of opening up but in the realization that sincerity is often received with far less care than it takes to offer it. there is something profoundly disorienting about exposing the most fragile parts of yourself only to discover that the person listening did not hold them with the same gravity you carried them with.
