@lndawson4 This is a very interesting perspective. I never thought about it as a social construct. However, I do have to argue that many vaccinations prevent very harmful diseases, and many parents are afraid to bring there children around non-vaccinated kids. #SUsocialwork
@Raquel78688096 I 100% agree with this. Attending a university system requires individuals to invest in their future, and unfortunately many are not given that opportunity simply because they cannot afford it. Having a college degree is correlated with higher paying employment. #SUSocialwork
@EleanorMBrown22 This is so true. Often times individuals who are not given a proper education are those who commit crimes in order to survive. Given the opportunity to have an education will help the recidivism rate with this population. #SUsocialwork
Some believe marijuana is not harmful to the baby simply because it is not discussed like alcohol and cigarettes. However using marijuana during pregnancy can also impact the baby’s development. #SUsocialwork
@AllisonMulvaney This is so important!! Mental health has such a negative stigma, and is important to end this stigma, and educate students to take care of their mental health without fearing how people will perceive them! #SUsocialwork
@JillJasper14 This is very important! All it takes is one act of kindness to cause a ripple. It also takes one act of kindness to brighten someone’s day! #SUsocialwork
Insulin should be a right not a privilege. Individuals need it to survive and unfortunately many are skipping doses/taking smaller amounts to make it last because the price of insulin has doubled in the last five years making it unaffordable #SUsocialwork https://t.co/G34z6ao4KZ
@Kklprice This is amazing. I love that they will allow individuals to come in any time day or night, as this is vital. Often times people need a safe place at night, and there are limited options for their safety. #SUsocialwork
The UK will regulate food eaten by social workers in order “to improve wellbeing.” Ministers believe the key to solving burnout, high caseloads and turnover lies in enforcing a reduction in the sugar content eaten by social workers. Thoughts?#SUsocialwork https://t.co/Rd9afUDxJe
Crisis sets in Puerto Rico after food stamp cuts hit 1.3 million. HIV patients forced to sit for hours in own filth diapers because it is too expensive. Mothers cutting back on produce, and meat for kids. Elderly expecting to go hungry. #SUsocialwork

This is so important and exciting!! I work with individuals with mental illness, and some of my members have had the police called on them, and law enforcement did not know how to address these individuals, and communicate so they would understand and feel safe!! #SUsocialwork
For the first time ever in Sussex County the Georgetown Police Department is adding a mental health clinician to their patrols to enhance their services in the community.

@nherrera114 This is ridiculous. These women, and all women work just as hard in any comparable field to there men counterpart. This is an important topic that needs to be addressed and changed! #SUSocialWork
About 14 million students attend a school without a single counselor, psychologist or social worker. This is disheartening as many children and adolescents need an outlet they can talk to. Someone who can assist them and link to resources. #SUsocialwork https://t.co/HCcLffsE5H
