Today in Kigali Car Free Day , Chairperson of RPIA @muglari gave a message of autism awareness.
Autism is not demon possessed, witchcraft, a curse or a disease. It is a developmental condition. Let us work together to support and include people with autism, because they are able.
📸 Photos: This morning, residents and visitors came together for the bi-monthly #CarFreeDay in #KigaliYacu.
Today’s edition focused on promoting dialogue within families as a foundation for safe, healthy, and inclusive communities.
Participants also raised awareness about supporting children living with disabilities and ending discrimination and abandonment. Children with autism actively took part in the sports activities, reminding us that every child can thrive when given equal opportunities and support.
Together, we shared one important message:
“Disability is not inability. Inclusive education begins with enrolling every child.”
From children and young people to elderly participants and pregnant women, today’s activities once again showed that sport and physical activity are for everyone, according to each person’s ability and capacity.
Dear all, CAR FREE DAY! Join us this Sunday, 24 May 2026, at 7:00 a.m. to ride and walk from BK Arena to KCC, as we raise awareness and celebrate inclusive education for every child.
“Let us work with commitment & a spirit that responds to our national priorities in promoting inclusive education for every learner. Every child should have equal access to quality learning opportunities,”noted @mutezigaju. @WB_Rwanda, @LIFT_Rwanda, @NESA_Rwanda, #EducationForAll

Dr Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, South Africa, addressed delegates from across the Southern Africa region at a workshop on Open Educational Resources (OER) and AI in Johannesburg this week, affirming the importance of African-led collaboration in shaping the future of teacher education.
She expressed appreciation for COL’s support at the workshop and described the gathering as “a strategic convergence of institutions, a convergence of ideas, a convergence of intellect.” She also reminded participants that the future of education in Africa will not be shaped by “isolated excellence, but by co-ordinated capabilities,” called on institutions to move beyond discussion to implementation, and encouraged cross-border collaboration to build systems that can produce, share, and sustain knowledge for the entire continent.
The regional workshop, supported by COL, was co-hosted by DHET, the University of the Witwatersrand (@WitsUniversity), and the African Deans of Education Forum (ADEF).
