For a sense of just how thoughtless this approach to tariffs has been just take a look at Cambodia, Laos and Lesotho. Three of the poorest countries in the world were hit with some of the harshest tariffs with Cambodia at 49%, Laos at 48% and Lesotho at 50%.

The sin? Being too impoverished to buy American goods.
