Bonne fête - Eid mubarak (english below)

C'est la fête aujourd'hui. Un jour de réjouissance, de reconnaissance, de fraternité et d'amour. Un jour pour la famille également et ceux qui s'aiment à la lumière du sens essentiel.

Pour certains, c'est aussi le jour des souvenirs. Un jour de tristesse et de larmes quand on repense à des parents absents, des sœurs ou des frères partis, celles et ceux que Dieu a rappelés. Une fête sans eux change le sens de la fête. Le souvenir l'emporte sur le sourire.

Pourtant, il faut accueillir ce jour avec gratitude et générosité. Un mois de jeûne est passé avec les prières, la proximité de la Révélation et le recueillement. Un jour où il faut faire l'effort de s'habiller de la plus belle des façons. Non pas seulement avec l'habit apparent, mais avec ces vêtements spirituels que sont la lumière du cœur, la beauté de la patience, la distinction du sourire, la douceur de la fraternité, la force du pardon et les rayons de l'amour.

S'habiller ainsi, c'est faire ses provisions de nourriture spirituelle pour l'année qui vient. Or, la meilleure des provisions est la conscience révérencielle et aimante de l'Unique :

"Faites vos provisions, car certes la meilleure des provisions est la conscience révérencielle (et aimante) de Dieu."

وَتَزَوَّدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰبِ
[2:197]

Et puis ne pas oublier ceux qui vivent ce jour dans la trsitesse et l'injustice, en Palestine, en Chine, en Inde, au Congo, en Birmanie et à travers le monde. Au-delà même des musulmans, nous sommes appelés à nous souvenir de tous les victimes d'injustice de la terre. Toutes.

Happy festival - Eid mubarak

It is a festival today. It is a day of rejoicing, gratitude, sisterhood, brotherhood, and love. It is also a day for the family and for those who love each other in the light of the essential meaning.

For some, it is also a day of memories—a day of sadness and tears when we think of absent parents, sisters or brothers gone, those whom God has called back. A festival without them changes the meaning of the festival. Memory outweighs the smile.

However, we must welcome this day with gratitude and generosity. A month of fasting has gone with prayers, proximity to the Revelation, and meditation. A day when you have to dress in the most beautiful way. Not only with the visible dress but also with the spiritual clothes, namely the light of the heart, the beauty of patience, the distinction of the smile, the sweetness of fraternity, the strength of forgiveness, and the rays of love.

Dressing in such a way means making provisions of spiritual food for the coming year. And the best provision is the reverential and loving consciousness of the One:

“Make your provisions, for surely the best provision is the reverential (and loving) consciousness of God.”

وَتَزَوَّدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰبِ
[2:197]

And then do not forget those who experience today sadness and injustice in Palestine, China, India, Congo, Burma and throughout the world. Even beyond Muslims, we are called to remember all the victims of injustice on earth. All of them.
