Oklahoma spends nearly $300 million on private school vouchers tax credits. More than 90% of families who receive these vouchers already send their kids to private school and don’t need the giveaway.
Schemes like private school vouchers only benefit the wealthiest of Oklahomans. As governor, I will put our public schools and everyday Oklahomans first. I believe our tax dollars are better spent investing in teacher and support staff pay, and other improvements to our public schools. Before we send millions of taxpayer dollars to private schools, we should first focus on making sure every Oklahoma child has access to a quality public education.
It’s official — I’m on the ballot. ✅
After nearly a year of crisscrossing the state, getting to know you, and earning your support, we’ve made it here. And I’m so grateful!
I’m ready to be your next Governor, Oklahoma! This race is about making sure everyone has access to what they need: quality public education, affordable health care, and a job that pays the wages to help you pay your bills with less stress.
This is the type of leadership every Oklahoman deserves. We’ve gone too long without it, now is the time.
And we’re just getting started. 🔥 Let’s get to work. I’m ready — are you?
People ask me all the time, “Can a Democrat win in Oklahoma?” The answer is YES. Because Oklahoma is not a red state, it’s a gerrymandered state.
Just two governors ago, we had a Democratic governor and a more balanced legislature. Today, Oklahoma is ranked 50th in quality of public education and 49th in access to affordable health care. After nearly two decades of one-party control, we are at the bottom of the lists that matter most to working families. It’s not because Oklahomans don’t care, it’s because the maps protect politicians instead of representing the people.
Oklahomans want a governor focused on what actually affects their lives: strong public schools, affordable and accessible health care, and an economy that works for everyday families. Those are not partisan issues. They are Oklahoma priorities.
As Governor, I will fight for real, sustainable investment in our public schools, including meaningful pay raises for teachers and support staff. I will work to strengthen and expand access to affordable and accessible health care, especially in rural Oklahoma. And I will focus on lowering costs and building an economy that works for everyday families.
Thank you to Governor Andy Beshear for having me on the podcast and helping elevate these issues. Oklahoma deserves better, and I trust the people of this state to help us move forward.
@RyanWalters_ The only truthful line in your resignation letter was the last one. Better days are finally ahead for OK education now that you have resigned.
Superintendent of #oklaed Ryan Walters has signed a 2nd settlement agreement with the Ethics Commission.
He will pay $18,300 in fines and fees for "serious campaign finance rule violations."
The settlement also notes "over-contributions" being returned. https://t.co/fV6QK6PmtI
State Superintendent Ryan Walters will pay $18,300 for an improper transfer of funds from his campaign war chest to a local school board election committee.
It’s the second time Walters has paid a fine to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission in recent months.

Our children deserve better.
Our teachers deserve better.
Oklahoma deserves better.
I hope more of us will speak up, stay informed, and VOTE with education in mind — because the future of our state depends on it.
As an Oklahoman, an educator, and a grandmother, I’m deeply disappointed in the direction our state leaders continue to take when it comes to education.
The decisions being made at the Capitol don’t reflect what’s best for our students, our teachers, or the future of public education in Oklahoma. It’s disheartening to continue to watch legislation pass that seems more focused on politics than on kids, classrooms, or communities.
And again I ask, where is the demand for accountability and transparency at the state level? Our legislators continue to pass legislation that is not supportive of public schools, often criticizing the way local BOEs spend $ yet they allow this to go on & do nothing?! Do better!!
ICYMI: After already uncovering records Monday, we found more records on Tuesday revealing State Supt. Ryan Walters’ new chief of staff received yet another extra five-figure paycheck, with OSDE officials still unwilling to explain why.

Even if the standards weren’t questionable, the process was not only thrown out the window but then he changed the standards without letting the state board know what they were voting on. Where is the accountability and transparency that is demanded of everyone else?
Today I signed onto HJR 1030, which disapproves the proposed Social Studies Standards, which are currently up for legislative review.
Here’s why, and a call to action 👀 ⬇️
"A mandated report released by the Oklahoma Tax Commission with little fanfare shows that about 21% of the tax credits issued as part of the Parental Choice Tax Credit program for spring 2025 went to families making more than $250,000."

“I am not running against Ryan Walters. I am running for the families and students of Oklahoma. Whoever else decides to get in the race, that’s fine," Miller said. #oklaed https://t.co/TFZLqQw4Dz
Education isn’t broken because of teachers. It’s broken because we ask teachers to be counselors, social workers, parents, and miracle workers—while still demanding perfect test scores. Fix the system, not the people holding it together.
@RyanWaltersSupt You have done nothing but play politics at our expense. I’m so sick of it. The political theatre is out of control. What an embarrassment our state has become. You all squabbling like kids on the playground. How is anyone supposed to take any of you seriously?
