📚 Not Your Typical Book Club: Lessons I Didn’t Expect in 2024 💡
At the start of this year, I made a promise to myself: to fall in love with reading again. Not for leadership insights, not to “level up” at work, but just for the pure joy of it.

When our Founder, @LewisHamilton set-up Mission 44 three years ago, tackling school exclusions was a key priority. At 15 years old, Lewis was temporarily excluded himself, before being reinstated in his classroom, and has spoken about the impact this had on his mental health and fears for the future.
🚨 Today, as school exclusions reach record numbers, we’re launching the ‘Nothing Happens in Isolation’ campaign, aimed at supporting students most at risk of exclusion through early intervention.
📝 As part of the campaign, together with Public First, we’ve published a first of its kind report which explores opinions of those at the heart of the issue - including teachers, parents and students.
The report found that, in most cases, teachers spotted early warning signs from students that go on to be excluded, further highlighting the crucial role of early intervention.
🗣️ Now, we’re calling on the Government to take action to address the root causes of exclusions, in an effort to turn the tide and #PreventExclusions across UK schools. To do this, we have highlighted four priority areas, with policy recommendations, for the Government to take action on.

"All organisations have to ask themselves the question: once the report's written, what next?"
@Ndidi1st@UKYouth on the need to turn reports into further impact, rather than letting them languish on shelves.

Every young person deserves access to safe spaces, trusted adults, and enriching activities. We welcome the Government’s commitment to a new youth strategy but urge clarity and support for youth sector funding, especially with the @NCS closure in 2025. The Government must protect vital services for young people. #BackYouth

I used to get really worked up about American politics but I realised it’s fruitless worrying about something out of my control. But it’s embarrassing, right? My friend @adilray sums it up so well.
