We officially launched the Identity Expo and Symposium, which will be held in commemoration of International ID Day. During the event, NIRA will be joined by URA @KCCAUG, @BOU_Official, @NITAUganda1, @USPC_LTD and other partners to provide their respective services at the venue.

Since school resumes tomorrow, today we spent some time with the children, spouses and parents of our comrades who are still missing, those in detention and those killed over the past years. We shared with these families some scholastic materials, and a contribution towards school fees. It was with a lot of sadness, that I received the bad news of the death of your dear husband, Mr. Hafidh Hassan.

I extend the most heart-felt condolences from the brother People of Uganda and from my family and myself, to your Excellency, your family and the People of Tanzania.

Eversince I started knowing you as Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania and now as President, I have witnessed your love for your country and Africa and your dedication.

We have done a lot together in the areas of trade, the East African Oil Pipeline, the Murongo-Kyikagate mini-hydro station, the tarmac roads on the side of Tanzania, the transmission-line from Masaka-Bukoba, the SGR to Isaka and, eventually, to Uganda and beyond, to mention just some.

The dedication you show must have been supported by your dear husband and family. I have met your son, Mr. Abdul, a few times.

It must, therefore, be a great loss to you. I pray that the Almighty God sees you through these dark days. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The Ministry of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance, @MoICT_Ug announced that the National Identification Number (NIN), issued by @NIRA_Ug, will now serve as the Tax Identification Number (TIN) going forward.

The integration establishes one consistent identity for every taxpayer, reducing the need for separate identification processes while improving the accuracy of taxpayer records and strengthening tax administration.

It is also expected to make it simpler for citizens to register and communicate with tax authorities, while supporting more efficient government planning and service delivery. 💡
