“What was pure altruism became a thoughtful answer to a quiet need. @SolidAfrica turned an act of kindness into a service that restores dignity along with health. That commitment is one of many for which we are grateful within Rwanda’s civil society.” - First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame during Solid’ Africa 15 and Beyond Gala Dinner | Kigali, 24 July 2026

“I hear what is popular among young people these days: vibes. I have nothing against good vibes. Vibes are not just for young people. Even those of us who are older can enjoy them. But if we are going to enjoy the vibes, we must have something solid to stand on, please. Don’t invest in vibes, invest in the foundation where you can now vibe. Because if there is no foundation, it won’t last.
We want things that are sustainable. We want to build a society that is resilient. You can’t built a society that is resilient on vibes. But a resilient society can vibe.” President Kagame, Chairman of the RPF | RPF Bureau Politique.

Today is
Liberation Day
In 1990, a struggle began.
Led by the Rwandan Patriotic Front @rpfinkotanyi , and its armed wing, the Rwandan Patriotic Army. “RPA”
It was not only a war.
It was the beginning of a transformation.
Those who then took up arms were Rwandans - many born in exile, others forced into it at a young age and others had been in Rwanda and responded to the call.
For decades, they had been denied the right to return to their own country.
Not because of what they had done … but because of what they were.
This war became their last resort.
Not only to reclaim a homeland - but to restore a nation.
It’s been a journey… a journey that the next generations have to own themselves and so honor the women and the men that sacrificed their lives so that tomorrow’s Rwanda would always be better for the generations to come.
Allow me to share … where it began … Afande Kagame during the Liberation War:
What I would like you to inform about is that, everyone needs to clearly know that our army is the bedrock of our @rpfinkotanyi RPA struggle … the bedrock, do you understand “the bedrock” …
yes, sir! …
It is the bedrock of our RPF/A struggle and will be the bedrock of national transformation and development of our country.
And therefore you should keep in mind the party’s political aim of the struggle that led us to take up arms and fight.
And therefore … our conducts and actions… our thoughts must ALWAYS differentiate us from those we are fighting against, right?
“Yes, sir!”
Otherwise, if there’s no difference with those we are fighting, our struggle would be meaningless, right?
“Yes, sir!”
Happy Liberation Day ✊🏾

“A single market works best, when rules and standards are predictable and consistent across jurisdictions. The institutions mandated to lead this work already exist, and they deserve our support. The same principle applies to visa policies.
In Rwanda, we removed this particular barrier because we wanted people to visit, connect and discover opportunities. And as we know, it is just the right thing to do. We saw stronger business activity, increased tourism, and expanded air links.
Experience, therefore, shows us that openness and cooperation are powerful drivers of development. No single region has unlocked its potential, while remaining fragmented. Air connectivity opens immense opportunities and possibilities.” President Kagame | African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026
President Kagame has arrived in Lomé, Togo, where he was received by President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé @FEGnassingbe ahead of the inaugural African Air Transport Convention & Expo.
