“Every language offers a different window onto the world.” 🌍
Irish poet Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh introduces us to 5 beautiful Irish phrases that offer more than just a glimpse into the Irish language. They invite us to see the world a little differently.
Sometimes, discovering a new way of expressing an idea can open up a new way of seeing it. From poetic turns of phrase to feelings that are difficult to capture in English, Irish offers its own unique window onto the world.

The @MacGillSchool is co-organized by the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies, part of @KeoughGlobalND at @NotreDame.

The @MacGillSchool was founded in 1981 as a space to share ideas and challenge conventional thinking.
This year’s lineup included discussions on geopolitical tensions, organized crime, unionism and more, plus a performance of Colin Murphy’s “The Weak Suffer What They Must.” 🧵
It’s been a delight working with @seroddy of @MaynoothUni on PARISH (Preserving and Recording Ireland’s Sacred Heritage).
We’re excited to see this project’s impact grow as a free, online source of genealogical information.
