TikToker Arrested for Allegedly Inciting Attacks on Rundu Tuckshops

A 23-year-old Rundu man was arrested on Friday after he allegedly used TikTok to encourage people to target tuckshop owners and commit crimes against them.

The accused, Mbambo Martin Mukoya, of Kehemu, was arrested on 11 September 2026 and appeared before the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

According to the charge sheet, Mukoya faces a charge of attempt, conspiracy and inducing another person to commit an offence, in contravention of Section 18(2)(b) of the Riotous Assemblies Act of 1956.

The charge alleges that on or about 11 September in Rundu, Mukoya unlawfully and intentionally incited, instigated, commanded or procured another person to commit offences, including housebreaking with intent to steal and theft, robbery and assault.

Mukoya appeared before Magistrate Sonia Samupofu and was granted N$3,000 bail.

The case was postponed to 30 November 2026.
