Everything is perfect.

That’s what Zach Bush keeps saying. He sat by a lot of deathbeds. Watched the same thing happen again and again. Right at the end people would look back and the whole thing suddenly felt complete. The failures. The arguments. The times they felt like they missed the mark. All of it fit.

He thinks we’re in a hospice moment as a species right now. Not some big multi-crisis. Just the stage where the old story starts letting go. When the constant right-wrong scorekeeping drops away, something quieter shows up. The beauty of getting to feel the full range while we’re here. Joy, disappointment, insecurity, connection. All of it seems to have a place.

We’re pretty limited in what we can sense. That limitation is also what lets us feel so much. Weird gift.

I keep turning this over. Most of the ways we measure a life feel small next to that. Feeling everything a human can feel might be the actual point of the whole trip.
