This is what we are building here in the Rose Caucus.
Our goal is to transform the NDP into a strong, member-led political alternative that fights alongside social movements for the needs of working-class people and marginalized communities.

I wrote about how the Left should relate to a Lewis-led NDP alongside some brilliant organizers.
We can't underestimate the forces we're up against. We must build power both inside and outside the party to advance a socialist agenda.

What happened in Montreal last week, hanging an effigy of abhorrent war criminal Itamar Ben Gvir, wasn't antisemitism and claiming it is does real antisemitism a disservice but people like Housefather don't care as long as they can shield Israel from any criticism whatsoever.
Cuba is out of fuel, strangled by the US fuel chokehold.
People are dying, systems are breaking down.
This is collective punishment against a people who have done absolutely nothing except live their lives under hard conditions imposed by the US blockade for decades.
It’s a blatant violation of international law, a crime in progress.
Canadians are connected to Cuba: we’ve been welcomed, had great holidays, heard incredible music, done business and made friends.
We need to help Cuba right now, even if it bothers Trump: Canada should send immediate humanitarian fuel aid, in as much quantity as we can quickly assemble.
And we should be speaking out loudly on the international stage: US military action against Cuba is absolutely unacceptable!
It’s time for the countries of the world to rally and stop this impunity before it takes another sovereign country into chaos.
We have to come to Cuba's aid. What's happening is too cruel, too horrible.
We know why, of course. It’s because politicians like Anthony Housefather care more about protecting Israel than standing up for the rights of Canadians, let alone Palestinians.
Every Canadian is made less safe when our elected officials refuse to condemn apartheid and genocide.
Proud Canadians were horrified by Israel’s kidnapping and abuse of Canadian participants in the Global Sumud Flotilla, yet Anthony Housefather couldn’t even be bothered to repost Carney’s hollow condemnation.
Proud Canadians will fight for Canada and oppose separation and separatist movements anywhere in Canada. Every province and territory is stronger as part of our federation.
NEW: NDP Leader Marit Stiles suggests Premier Doug Ford will "be in prison" at the end of this current mandate, and says the NDP would call a public inquiry into the Ford government if elected after the 2029/30 election.

@CultureIsFirst@democracynow@avilewis Understand why he's doing this. He's meeting people where they're at, Canadians don't like it when opposition parties are at each other's necks constantly, so he instead attacks Carney where it matters, policy.
This is the difference between Avi and Pierre as opposition figures.
Today, the Liberals rejected our NDP motion to ban surveillance pricing - a dystopian practice that will drive up costs for Canadians if we allow it to take root.
The NDP is the only party fighting to protect you from getting ripped off at the checkout.
You mean the Ed Broadbent who literally campaigned on public ownership?
It's amazing how Conservative bigwigs like Jenni Byrne pretend to be experts on the NDP when they are so illiterate on the history of left-wing politics in our country.
When asked if Canada should consider sanctions to stop Israel’s murderous bombing of Lebanon, Carney dismisses the idea, saying “I wouldn’t go to what you are suggesting as the method at this delicate point in time.”
We all know that Carney’s status quo is a failure. Canada’s “influence” is not enough to stop Israel’s mass killing of civilians across the region. Sanctions are absolutely necessary to force an end to Israeli aggression and a withdrawal of its illegal invasion.
Grand Chief Stewart Phillip "What we have here today is absolute solidarity on the part of First Nations and our allies who know how critical DRIPA is to the future of reconciliation in BC. It’s the only path forward." at press conference here in Vancouver.
NDP MLA Joan Phillip is opposed to Eby's plan to suspend sections of DRIPA, her husband Grand Chief Stewart Phillip said this morning. In response, David Eby said there's a "diversity of views" in caucus and he'll "defer to Joan" to speak for her community and herself.

Steven Guilbeault: "We campaigned in the last election as a centre, maybe centre-left party, and we're governing more as a centre-right party ... There's a shift in certain priorities, but we still stand for all of those things that you and I have been talking about."
