Hi Jason’s Burner Accounts Bot, 👋

Please don’t let Jason auto-nuke me for this as I fall into this current definition of a burner account (under one year old and less than 100 followers).

But, why do accounts under one year old OR under 100 followers have to get punished? If an account does not meet either of these criteria it does not necessarily mean that account does not follow the rules or is a nice person and vice versa. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Could it be better to also include criteria if the account is verified and/or their ID is verified?

Maybe burner account could = account age < 1 year AND followers < 100 AND account not verified AND id not verified? Or maybe implement a burner scale based on the criteria the account meets and doesn’t meet?

@levelsio Update: spoke to wife and she said 15% to 20%. But that there are a myriad of other factors that go into this.

Very true that they should be checking that first. However, I would say that most people don’t actually want to change their lifestyle. They just want the quick and easy fix.

My wife is an NP in family medicine in a rural area and constantly tells patients they need to diet and exercise. She gets to spend 30-45 minutes with patients, and yet I would guess (and I’m being generous here) that only about 5% are actually willing to put in the work.
