The Storm fell to Pleasant Hill 4-0 in the first round of districts Tuesday night. Sion softball finished the season with 8 wins and 9 losses, earning the program’s best winning percentage in 10 years! Way to put in the work and rep Sion!! Great job ladies!!!

Storm fell short in the championship game versus Pleasant Hill on Saturday. Hannah Lange, Taelyn Smith, and Terryn Ford all had hits for the Storm. Hannah and Terryn scored Sion’s 2 runs. Next up: Rematch v Pleasant Hill in the 1st round of the District playoffs.

Sion beat Summit Christian 2-1 and advanced to the championship game of the Raytown South tourney. Pitcher Hannah Lange struck out 13, eclipsing 400 career strikeouts. Lucy Shively delivered with a triple and run scored. Makaila Traylor and Lucy Gromowsky each had a hit.

Sion opened the Raytown South tournament with a 15-5 win over the host. Taelyn Smith pitched all 5 innings for the Storm, had 2 hits, and scored 3 runs. Makaila Traylor, Hannah Lange, and Georgia Gomez had 2 hits and scored 2 runs each. Makaila rounded the bases in her last AB.

Harrisonville uses big 3rd inning to get the win over Sion Monday night. Junior Hannah Lange and Sophomore Georgia Gomez led the Sion offense with 2 hits each. Next up, the Raytown South Tournament, where the Storm will defend their championship from last year.

Sion won a close battle with Bishop LeBlond on Thursday. Junior Hannah Lange pitched 7 shutout innings, and Frosh Lucy Gromowsky led the offense with 2 hits and a run scored. Seniors Kendall Torres and Makaila Traylor each had a single, and Sophomore Terryn Ford had a hit.

North Platte pitching held the Sion in check Monday night. Sophomore Taelyn Smith had a double and single to lead the Storm offense, and Frosh Lucy Gromowsky scored the lone run for Sion.

Three big road games down the stretch with district playoffs around the corner. The Storm will travel to North Platte and Bishop LeBlond this week. Then it’s on to Harrisonville next week before Sion wraps up the regular season with the Raytown South tournament. Let’s Go Storm!

Storm moves to 5-5 with win over Lincoln Prep Friday night. Junior Hannah Lange threw a perfect game for the Storm. She also had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Senior Makaila Traylor had a hit and scored 3 runs, and Frosh Lucy Gromowski had a hit and 2 RBI.

Storm come up short against William Chrisman Monday night. Hannah Lange threw seven strong innings for Sion, striking out 12 batters. Senior Kendall Torres had a big hit to help Sion take the lead in the 6th inning, before William Chrisman’s comeback in the 7th.

Storm get big win over STA on Wednesday. Sophomores Taelyn Smith and Terryn Ford led the offense with 3 hits each. Junior Lucy Shively and Frosh Lucy Gromowsky made great plays in the infield to lead the defense.
