GDPR covers confidential records held by an identifiable organisation that then has responsibility to store, correct and destroy. Once a Youtube video is released, it is no longer confidential and has moved into Comms.

Nobody has suggested this is out of date, so I conclude that Public Contributors serving as co-researchers should have a Standard DBS check where they interview patients and no DBS check where they handle identifiable patient data.

Is this the most up to date statement suggesting when Public Contributors should be asked to undergo a DBS check? Since the Police Act 1997 makes it illegal to ask for an unnecessary check, it's important to get it right. See https://t.co/YVSWUJIu1b
