Cities should have the density and the form making them more convenient to walk around than to drive around. You can’t address climate change without acknowledging and acting on that.
@anjum_ai As an actual “architect” one who is licensed to design buildings, I can say with certainty, there is no such word as “architecting”, and if you say that you should apologize for your poor English. One might “design the architecture” but architect is a noun, not a verb.
@MariaDo36873970@l3v1at4an@TorontoPolice Well, this was to Jewish houses of worship in Canada, not Israel. This was not an attack on Canadians, not Israelis. You see, being opposed to Israel or its actions is political. Attacking synagogues in Canada is just Jew hatred.
@ItsYaBadDay @EFischberger You need to read the original complaint. This student was treated abysmally by the professor, by the department and be the university. Whether or not this resulted from Qatari money, or was just bad leadership, I don’t know and I say this as an alumnus of Carnegie Mellon.
@ball1_ball@EFischberger@WSJ You need to read the full complaint. It’s really devastating. This student was treated abysmally. I say this as an alumnus in architecture of Carnegie Mellon. I care about the place. I also taught architecture. One can be critical without being personal.
@EFischberger As an alumnus of @CarnegieMellon in architecture and as a former teacher of architecture at other schools, this is sad. This could have been easily avoided. The professor’s remarks were absurdly antisemitic, but an apology from the dean could have nipped this in the bud.
Newsom to European leaders at Davos regarding their dealings with the Pres “I am dismayed by this complicity. World leaders are acquiescing. I should have procured a set of knee pads for all the dignitaries. I hope people comprehend how ineffectual they appear on the global stage
@otter401@CohenSite Yes, for a 250’ building you may be correct, thoughts you can get much better units with single-stair because you can get double exposure, but we have so many sites in urban locations that are undevelopable under the old regime.
@StopAntisemites Curious about so many schools, some quite large, not rated at all such as: Tufts, Pitt, Tennessee, Richmond, Wm & Mary, Reed College, GA Tech, Colorado College, UNLV, NC State, Syracuse, SUNY Binghamton, VPI, Buffalo, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Cincinnati to name a few.
@AbubakerAbedW @Sam158762129585 Now consider how many would have been killed had Hamas not invaded Israel, killed 1200 people and abducted over 200. Then consider how many would have died had Hamas not used Children as human shields. Most governments try to protect its citizens. Hamas places them in harms way.
@AbubakerAbedW @Sam158762129585 According to Hamas statistics, 58,000 combatants were killed out of a total of 68000 total fatalities. That means 10,000 non combatants were killed. If everyone of them was a child that’s 14 a day. Still too many to be sure, I’d prefer 0, but let’s use real numbers.
