📜 It allows trading of NRC-20 tokens through #NEAR wallets. The marketplace has a smart contract and indexer for listing, buying, and canceling orders. Users can easily list tokens for sale, buy tokens, and cancel sell orders.

Future updates will include transaction fee rewards for NEAT stakers and new trading functions.

Inscriptions are just application specific rollups on shared sequencer.

Normally when people talk about rollups, they expect the whole VM with it's own address space, gas and all.

Inscriptions record transactions on top of existing L1, effectively getting sequencing and DA, and then execution is happening off-chain. There is currently no state settlement, hence limited interoperability. But one can imagine ZK proof of execution posted with new state root.

It can be useful for complex operations like order books, AI inference or anything else requiring complex off-chain calculations without spinning up a full VM with address space and complexity of bridging.

Note, that this is separate from "proof of blockspace" that so far has been used in minting of inscription tokens. That is completely different story.
