You cant hire an unproven, limited talent individual with nearly ZERO experience to suddenly helm a $300M investment of production and marketing based purely on wholly fictitious and hilariously misguided DEI initiatives. This has failed miserably nearly every single time. But hey, get those ESG points from Larry Fink or whatever. I’d bet at least half the current 2026 staff in legacy “big” Hollywood was hired based on anti-merit metrics. (Like the writer of this film and the next WonderWoman one)
It absolutely shows on a regular basis and Hollywood will keep losing billions in untapped revenue because of it.
By far my favourite Scotland vs Brazil story is the referee saying “Good luck, may the best team win” to both captains before the game in 1982 and Graeme Souness replying “I fucking hope not”

I took my 16 year old to A&E over a fractured wrist yesterday.. he got it in the park falling trying to score a goal. Three years ago we took him for the same reason and they quizzed us yesterday repeatedly as to why he would come twice for the same injury. My son has been to hospital 4 times in his life… twice for operations and now twice for a wrist injury. Why weren’t the ‘parents’ of baby Preston quizzed and quizzed and quizzed about why he was repeatedly in hospital in the spate of 4 months in their care? WHY WEREN’T ALARMS RAISED?
@anon_opin The Engineer/David back-story did at least tie up a loose end regarding how the facehugger was reliant on broadly humanoid physiology for implantation.
This is going to piss some people off but I have to say it:
I HATE this World Cup expansion bullshit!
It’s nothing more than a thinly veiled DEI quota system that handed extra slots to weaker confederations in the name of continental “representation.” So the result is that FIFA has flooded the tournament with sides that simply don't belong at this level.
We've seen some predictable massacres already: Germany 7-1 Curacao, Canada 6-0 Qatar.
Neutral fans don't want to waste three hours watching some random minnows getting absolutely obliterated while the real football happens in the later stages. We want competitive football, tactical depth, and genuine drama, not charity games. Some of these teams are so bad they might as well be a Sunday league pub team XI.
Worse still, these lopsided results distort individual accolades. A Canadian striker bags a hat-trick against feeble opposition and suddenly his stats look inflated enough to compete with the game’s true greats. It cheapens the Ballon d’Or and every serious achievement in the sport.
I’d much rather see proven European nations with GREAT football traditions such as Italy, Poland, Greece etc. earning their place through genuine qualifying battles than watch these quota teams embarrass themselves on the biggest stage.
This bloated format in the name of inclusivity is diluting the World Cup’s prestige. FIFA thinks "Africa needs three more spots" or "let's throw CONCACAF another bone" and in the end? Great European and South American teams get excluded and the overall quality of the tournament just drops.
The DEI racket ruins EVERYTHING.
@sophielouisecc Last Norwegian goal should be scratched for handball in the buildup. Pity Iraq couldn't have made more of a challenge in the last half-hour.
Labour has said they fear releasing data on the nationalities of people allocated social housing could lead to “disgusting” abuse on social media.

@thecarolemalone Reform enthusiastically accepted failed Uniparty MPs and sacrificed their identity accordingly. A significant Restore vote should sharpen their focus.
