"What do artists do all day" just a flavour of the IJF art exhibition at the Kodokan Institute of Judo Tokyo. Had the pleasure of meeting her Royal Highness. The exhibition is open to the public for the next 7 days. #neileckersleyart#judoworld#memories#olympain#Inspiration
Just in the garden, playing around with a few ideas.
It's amazing how a few simple lines can spark a new direction. No plan, no pressure just enjoying the creative process and seeing where it leads.

#LA28
Celebrating the return of the Olympic Games to the amazing city of Los Angeles.
A city of dreams, creativity, diversity, and endless possibility. From the memories of 1984 to the excitement of 2028.

Just sketching in the garden today.
A simple doorway, a few plants, and a marker pen. Sometimes the best ideas arrive when there’s no plan at all just a quiet moment, a sketchbook, and the freedom to explore.
Creativity doesn’t always begin with a masterpiece.
@SawyerMerritt Thankfully nobody was injured.
But I can’t help wondering about the environmental impact of this type of explosion. Was it a technological setback or simply the world’s most expensive firework?
This is a 3D interpretation of my sculpture Core, inspired by the bedrock beneath New York City. Apparently, only certain parts of Manhattan can support the weight of the tallest skyscrapers because the underlying rock is strong enough to carry them.

As artists and as human beings, we wear many masks.
Masks of defence.
Masks of disguise.
Masks of deceit.
Masks of friendship.
Masks of hope.
Masks of desire.
Some we wear to protect ourselves.
Some to survive.
Some to hide the truth.
And some to reveal it.
Being immersed… or maybe even transformed by the creative process?
Feels pretty normal to me.
Somewhere between chaos and colour, the artwork starts taking over.
Maybe that’s what creativity really is not escaping reality, but becoming part of it.

Just playing around with a mock-up to get a sense of the feeling and scale of my latest art installation concept for #LA28
A suspended spiral of cityscapes, memory, music, and movement built around the three Olympic values:
EXCELLENCE
RESPECT
FRIENDSHIP

Now all I have to do is pitch it to a sponsors, fingers crossed.
From a rough sketch in a notebook to a fully realised concept celebrating the return of the Olympic Games to LA in 2028.
A suspended installation built around the Olympic values of
EXCELLENCE
RESPECT
FRIENDSHIP
Just playing around with an idea…
A conceptual installation celebrating the return of the Olympic Games to Los Angeles for #LA28.
A suspended spiral of cityscapes, poetry, memory, and movement built around the three values of Olympism:
EXCELLENCE
RESPECT
FRIENDSHIP
Sometimes the artist becomes trapped inside their own imagination.
Framed by creativity.
Held between chaos and expression.
A space where thoughts, memories and emotions collide in colour and texture.
The frame is not a limitation it is the doorway into another world.
WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS
Before Yves Klein became famous for his iconic blue artworks, he was a serious judoka training at the Kodokan in Japan and achieving 4th Dan black belt
For Klein, Judo was about movement, energy, discipline and space.
