@doggygoth@RedLReviews i like the idea! and for my personal expansion on the LoK story thats how i interpreted it, but if that was the intention it was not explored properly in the show. specifically none of our hero characters point out the discrepancy
you see i was fully willing to discuss this point cuz atla does have some flaws in how it depicts its conflicts, but this is twitter so people just block you when they point out their bad faith arguments
@twinsarekeepers there was literally a whole episode that showed the other avatars telling aang to kill ozai and that aang was being selfish for prioritizing his own philosophies over the safety of the world

@RedLReviews esp with the near extinction of the southern water benders, earth benders being put in prisons during the war for their bending, AND with bending being inherently tied to each nation's culture it felt like they were trying to invent fantasy racism when there was no need
@RedLReviews i always felt like it glossed over the fact the only benders people would have issue with would be fire benders. watching the equalist crowd cheer at amon almost taking tenzin and the kids' bending as if air benders did anything to them was so confusing
Avatar can go forward.
Just not two direct back to back sequels. That was the worst decision possible.
Avatar should always have a fog of mystery around the placement of time. The stories we see should be centuries before or after any other Avatar we know.
@NolanGottfried@swan2swan87@Grahfvillainy the other guy saying easily accessible makes it seem like its just "every letter corresponds to a number!" i love when series take their time to create fun conlangs and unique symbols. i just think the guy's rebuttal was disingenuous
@NolanGottfried@swan2swan87@Grahfvillainy dude i just said its not "easily accessible" cuz we dont have the symbols they used. i never said it was incomprehensible. theres nothing in my comment that even alluded to the idea i didnt know how they made it
"dante's inferno is fanfic" you guys understand dante was a devout catholic right? he believed the figures he was writing about were real. its important to me that yall understand this.
@Survival_R_ its always been portrayed as instant. the day the last avatar dies is when the new avatar is born. again, this is assuming the show hasnt retconned any of this established lore
but its even more insane to believe after the world ended and while ppl were fighting for their lives they were like "yea, lets all change how we write"
i genuinely hope this is supposed to be a retcon because unless korra pulled a kyoshi and was alive for a long ass time i refuse to believe the writing system completely changed in under 100 years
Its been revealed at #SDCC2026 they made a written language for the Avatar universe called “Avatarian”, The written language in the Cartoon previously used Chinese characters (hanzi)
like im saying it would make more sense if in universe they just acted like the writing was always like that. as many ppl said it was already a stretch the entire world used the same writing system and language -
@swan2swan87@Grahfvillainy how is it easily accessible when its using unique characters they made up (unless they post a translation guide which prob wont happen until they post some art book tie in), its not like a straight forward cypher where one character translates to one english letter
i knew these guys werent serious when a few months ago someone gave some very general writing advice and everyone was asking why they should improve on their writing😭
@bokubya no fr. i thought naveen as a mixed creole man cuz i was 5, but theres a difference between "i was a kid and didnt have a lot of rep so i thought they were black" and being a grown adult who should know better
i love when you can tell ppl think art schools are filled with the same sort of artists they see on tiktok or twt, when its mostly a bunch of hippies, former popular kids, and rich people. i had to explain what ao3 was to my last roommate
