‘BACKROOMS’ director Kane Parsons says he would get “no enjoyment” out of using generative AI on any project — “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.”
“I think I'm in the same boat as most well-adjusted people. If I could snap my fingers and make generative Al disappear forever, I probably would.”

I love this scene because it essentially puts you in the same position Peter Tench was in, not being able to tell what was real or not. And the implication that Mary might have had a similar fate as Peter with Phil telling Mary that it’s not up to him what happens to her
Saw the Backrooms movie, absolutely loved it but my favorite bit was how it makes you think you're about to get a full exposé from the scientist that's been teased the whole film only to be horrified by how they have no better understanding of it than the people who just found it
My favourite thing about the movie is the concept of the repeated distillation of memory until it’s so thin that it becomes indecipherable. The movie isn’t super scary on the surface, but the way it forces you to analyse how your brain functions in the real world is terrifying.
