I will repeat…God forbid if even one person gets so much as a scratch over this, you and Carla will have to answer for it. It’s on you. You know exactly what Garvaghy Road means to people, and you’ve chosen to instigate and push for this anyway.
Hundreds of Orange parades happen across NI every year. One went through Magherafelt, a predominantly Catholic town as you well know, only days ago without issue. So spare us the absolute tripe about Catholics and nationalists being unreasonable. Stop using Garvaghy Road as fodder for your hateful sectarian PR narrative.
There’s an alternative route in the same area, where Catholics live too. But you keep pushing for Garvaghy Road. Of all the roads you could choose, you’ve picked the one with the deepest wounds and the greatest potential to cause harm. You are destroying the peace that has been built over decades which took so painfully long to get to.
Catholic residents of Portadown and across NI already have to watch Irish flags and effigies of Irish people burned on hateful sectarian bonfires every year, which I have no doubt some if not all these 35 “Christian” orange men happily attend. Garvaghy residents are still dealing with the not so distant cutting memories of losing loved ones as a result of these parades. To ignore that, then paint the Garvaghy residents and their supporters as unreasonable for objecting to this parade, is shameful.
If the peace collapses, you are to blame
Amazing clip, this.
An all-timer of an overhead kick, every single Celtic fan behind the goal losing their minds, the keeper sprinting across the picture, the crackle in the audio. Perfection.
