A bunch of friendly mums dedicated to raising awareness and changing things for the better, for children & adults with complex disabilities and their families.
It was great to be at the Changing Places Opening Event at Trosley Country Park in Kent. The facility worked brilliantly. We couldn't have visited the Park without it. These make such a difference to families such as ours. Does your venue have one yet? If not, let's chat๐
Need2Change wishes you all a very happy and healthy 2026. Looking forward to our world getting just that little more accessible. Let's see what 2026 brings.
Happy New Year everyone ๐
It was brilliant to chat with friends, young people with SEND and family members at Bromleyโs SEND Local Offer Live event yesterday. Thank you for your kind words of appreciation and support and most importantly your wonderful insights into what makes things easier when out ๐
@danfrancis02 Thank you for raising this issue. We agree that wheelchairs are often not fit for purpose in enabling people to do the things they would like to do. It is like assuming that everyday life is accessible in one pair of slippers. We also need to think about the needs of the pusher.
Another example of a venue becoming more accessible and recognising that accessibility takes many forms, not only physical disability. On some tours Gallery Educators use sound, movement, touch and smell to bring the stories behind the artworks to life. Thank you ๐#CPTAD2025
For Changing Places Awareness Day, we want to highlight our facilities on Floor -2, which make a potential visit more accessible for an estimated quarter of a million people in the UK.

Today weโre celebrating two recently new Changing Places in leisure facilities. One in The Pavilion, Bromley and one at Biggin Hill Memorial Library and Pool. Thank you to Mytime Active for your support and opening up leisure activities for disabled people. ๐ #CPTAD2025
Hospitals are examples of where Changing Places can make a difference too. Who would want to visit a hospital knowing that there was nowhere to go to the loo? Thank you to Rob, Sam and all at the PRUH and @KingsCollegeNHS for installing 2 Changing Places facilities ๐#CPTAD2025
Well done to Lucy and the team at @fstonehythedc . It is great to be able to visit the coast just like everyone else. Good luck with the next Changing Places install in Greatstone. ๐ #CPTAD2025
Today is @ChangingPlaceUK Awareness Day.
These facilities are designed to meet the needs of disabled people with complex needs who rely on carer support.
We opened three in the district last year with another planned at Greatstone.

Today is Changing Places Awareness Day. This weekend we are going to be sharing posts and celebrating some venues which have a Changing Places, and are a day trip distance from us in South East London. Thank you for thinking about disabled visitors. ๐ #CPTAD2025
We love the Vue Cinema in Bromley. One of the few cinemas to have a Changing Places facility for people who need hoisted toileting facilities or who need more room than a standard accessible toilet. @vuecinemas ๐
In 2024 we have more Changing Places, more understanding of sensory experiences, greater inclusion at venues and events, thought and funding going into accessible playground design and more sporting opportunities for disabled people. Thank you for making this happen. We see you๐
This time of year is great for sensory experiences and @BedgeburyP hit the spot. Not too busy and the music was just right. It felt very calm. Friendly staff on hand, a Changing Places facility and paths in great order. Relaxed sessions too. A lovely festive treat. ๐ ๐
Thank you to all the businesses and venues who are thinking about how they can attract
and retain their disabled customers and visitors. It makes a huge difference to us. Happy Purple Tuesday everyone! ๐
