Today is a MOMENTOUS OCCASION. The first day of the Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency, Greenville, MS. We believe that it will be a GREAT program & GREAT for the Citizens of the MS Delta.

The ACGME site visitor has come and gone from Greenville. The day went GREAT. By all indications the Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency is well on its way. Feed back was very positive from all participating. So now we wait till Jan. for the FM review committee’s results.

The journey continues. Family Medicine residents training in the MS Delta came one step closer with the Program application submitted June 14. We’re on our way to improving access to primary care in the MS Delta. Congratulations to Dr. Walker & Julie.
Just concluded a great meeting at Delta Regional Medical Center. This can be a great place to train future family physicians. Much potential to address health needs of the region. Everyone working together can keep this train on it’s tracks. The future looks brighter after today.
Just wrapped up my meeting with Memorial leadership related to future GME. Enthusiastic & energized group. Look for great things to happen at Memorial. It is going to be an amazing team to work with.
On my way to memorial hospital Gulfport to discuss the development of graduate medical education. Exciting times ahead for graduate medical training in Mississippi. If we train more, we keep more.
