As he felt Charlie grab his hand, he pulled, helping him upwards.

However, he kept hold of the boy’s hand as he spoke and gave a smile.

Charlie sat himself up slowly, eventually ( finally ) reaching for Nick’s hand to pull himself fully up onto his feet.

Nick gave Charlie an amused look at he watched the boy’s dramatics.
