The bodies of three women were found near the Jiri and Barak rivers at the Manipur-Assam border.

Preliminary evidence suggests they are among the six Meitei abducted. Among them:

Telam Thajamanbi Devi (8 years)
Yurembam Rani Devi (60 years)
Telam Thobi Devi (31 years)

Imagine the terror of these innocents.

An 8-month-old baby, brutally killed.

Their bodies dumped in rivers as a "message."

It’s evident that around 90% of Kuki and Zomi villages lack the official documents required by the government. Most of these villages are reportedly built on encroached land, and many of the residents are alleged infiltrators who have acquired IDs and papers through unofficial channels. As a result, it would be nearly impossible for them to prove legal residency. This is likely why there is resistance to any government efforts to identify illegal immigrants and encroachers.

One significant statement by the ITLF spokesperson, a Zou leader, has stood out, “We are against NRC (National Register of Citizens)” This stance reveals much about the agenda of these immigrant village leaders, which some Indian supporters choose to overlook, given their political and military alliances with this community.
