Landmann Way, Bermondsey
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters are tackling a fire at a recycling centre on Landmann Way in Bermondsey
Station Commander Wayne Bloomfield, who is attending the scene, said: "Firefighters are working hard to extinguish a large amount of refuse at a recycling centre
The fire is also affecting a warehouse unit
"Due to the significant amount of smoke in the area, local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed
"Loose embers have also been reported, which is normal during large fires
Residents are advised to pour water onto them if they are concerned about loose embers on or near their properties, but if they do catch something alight, don't hesitate to call 999
"This is likely to be a protracted incident, with crews remaining on scene into the morning."
Two of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders have been deployed to the scene to help fight the fire from above
A Hose Layer Unit is also on scene, supporting front line appliances by laying large capacity hose lines over long distances to supply water to the fire ground
Control Officers took the first of multiple calls at 17:32 and have mobilised crews from Deptford, Old Kent Road, Greenwich and surrounding fire stations to the scene

@NotATeslaApp My MYP has the suspension rattle and creak since 50 miles from new 27 March 26. The service eventually decided to change just the left hand strut. They have kept my car for 3 weeks now waiting for parts due to be repaired 5th June. I rejected the car.
Cleaned up the Supercharger with two big bags; all the small white things are feathers floating around
All the plastic, trash, and cigarette butts are now in the garbage!
The King should go to America more, he's funny 😁
"You recently commented, Mr. President, that if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German. Dare I say that if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French."
Christian Craighead.
British Special Air Service (SAS).
The man known as Obi-Wan Nairobi, his actions on January 15, 2019 became legend.
Christian was in Kenya training local forces when five al-Shabaab terrorists launched a coordinated attack using explosives, arson, and mass shooting. Off duty and out shopping, Craighead kitted up from the back of his car, raced to the scene, organized Kenyan police and military units, and then went in alone.
He repeatedly entered the building, engaging terrorists and pulling out hostages floor by floor. By the end he was credited with helping save over 700 civilian lives.
He was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, the second highest military decoration in the United Kingdom. Then the same government that decorated him tried to stop him from ever telling the story.
