मुंबई : वंचित बहुजन आघाडीचे राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष ॲड. प्रकाश आंबेडकर यांनी अभिजित दीपके यांच्या पालकांशी मोबाईद्वारे संवाद साधून त्यांचे अभिनंदन केल्याची माहिती आपल्या अधिकृत 'एक्स' (X) सोशल मीडिया खात्यावरून दिली आहे.

ॲड. आंबेडकर यांनी आपल्या पोस्टमध्ये म्हटले आहे की, हा लढा इथेच थांबणार नसून पुढेही अधिक व्यापक स्वरूपात सुरू राहील. केंद्रीय शिक्षणमंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान यांचा राजीनामा हा या लढ्यातील केवळ पहिला टप्पा असल्याचे त्यांनी नमूद केले.

यावेळी त्यांनी वंचित बहुजन आघाडीची भूमिका स्पष्ट करताना, व्हीबीएला (VBA) शिक्षण व्यवस्थेत मूलभूत सुधारणा घडवून आणायच्या आहेत. 'नीट' (NEET) परीक्षा रद्द करून शिक्षणाचे विकेंद्रीकरण करणे ही आमची ठाम मागणी आहे," असे ते म्हटले.

दरम्यान, ॲड. प्रकाश आंबेडकर यांच्या या पोस्टनंतर NEET परीक्षा, शिक्षण व्यवस्थेतील सुधारणा आणि विकेंद्रीकरणाच्या मागणीवरील चर्चेला पुन्हा एकदा वेग आला आहे.

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान का इस्तीफ़ा माँग रहे थे क्यों कि उनके विभाग में भ्रष्टाचार की शुरुआत हुई पेपर लीक जैसे बात हुई लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री उनका इस्तीफ़ा स्वीकार करेंगे या नहीं, यही सबसे बड़ा सवाल है।

जब तक प्रधानमंत्री उनका इस्तीफ़ा स्वीकार नहीं करते, तब तक यह मुद्दा ज़िंदा रहेगा।

सबसे बड़ी बात यह है कि विद्यार्थियों पर जो लाठीचार्ज हुआ, क्या पुलिस ने यह जानबूझकर किया इसकी जाँच होगी या नहीं? केंद्रीकृत परीक्षा प्रणाली से जो समस्याएँ पैदा हो रही हैं, क्या सरकार उन्हें देखेगी? हमारी माँग है कि नीट को रद्द किया जाए और शिक्षा व्यवस्था का विकेंद्रीकरण किया जाए।

धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफा यह विद्यार्थियों की जीत है। उन्होंने नरेंद्र मोदी को झुका दिया और यह बता दिया कि आप भगवान नहीं, सिर्फ़ एक इंसान हैं।

विद्यार्थियों की ओर से आवाज़ आ रही थी कि धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफ़े से ही हमारा समाधान नहीं होगा। क्या सरकार शिक्षा व्यवस्था में सुधार की बात करेगी या नहीं? अगर शिक्षा व्यवस्था में सुधार करना है, तो नीट को रद्द करना पड़ेगा। क्या सरकार नीट को रद्द करेगी?

दिल्लीतील विद्यार्थ्यांवर झालेल्या अत्याचारा विरोधात फक्त 48 तासात महाराष्ट्र बंदच्या आवाहनाला प्रचंड प्रतिसाद राज्यातील जनतेने दिला, त्याबद्दल आभार.

मुंबई, नागपूर, पुणे, नांदेड, लातूर, कोल्हापूर, उस्मानाबाद, गोंदिया, गडचिरोली, भंडारा, जळगाव, नाशिक या जिल्ह्यांसह राज्यातील सर्व जिल्ह्यांनी सरकार विरोधात आपला राग व्यक्त केला. यातून केंद्र सरकार बोध घेईल ही अपेक्षा!

या महाराष्ट्र बंदला पाठिंबा देणारे काँग्रेस, डावे पक्ष, सामाजिक संघटना यातील लोकं सहभागी झाले. त्यांनीही यात मेहनत घेतली.

Seeking accountability, encouraging dialogue, and peaceful protests are hallmarks of a healthy democracy. But when peaceful protesters, seeking accountability are met with force and dissent is suppressed, it signals authoritarianism.

Whether it is the forcible removal of Sonam Wangchuk from Delhi's Jantar Mantar during his indefinite hunger strike demanding accountability over the NEET paper leak, the dismantling of a 15-day protest by Gond and Kol Adivasis in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district, who are facing displacement and were demanding fair rehabilitation, adequate compensation, protection of their land rights in the Ken–Betwa River Project, or the use of police force and lathi-charge against students protesting today, these incidents highlight the authoritarianism, silencing voices, dissent, and critical questions.

In his speech to the Constituent Assembly on November 25, 1949, Dr. Babasaheb B.R. Ambedkar warned that democracy requires constitutional methods for achieving social and political change. He cautioned against abandoning these methods in favour of extra-constitutional means, while also making clear that democratic institutions must remain responsive to the voices and grievances of citizens. A Constitution, in his view, could only succeed when those entrusted with power respected its spirit and not merely its written provisions.

Babasaheb also emphasised that political democracy cannot survive without the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity. The right to question authority, demand accountability, and peacefully express disagreement is central to preserving these values. For him, democracy was not only about majority rule; it was about ensuring that power remained accountable and that citizens retained the ability to challenge injustice.

A democracy is ultimately tested not by how it treats agreement, but by how it responds to disagreement!

Suppression of dissent has not worked well for those in power in the long run. Successive Congress governments, and now the BJP government have all restricted voices of opposition and curb dissent like the British Raj.
History shows that silencing questions and suppressing democratic expression does not strengthen authority; it only deepens public resistance and ultimately weakens those who attempt to impose authoritarian practices within a democracy.
