Black students at UNC-Chapel Hill gathered in a campus building for a watch party. A man who had no affiliation with the university entered the locked building and turned that room into a place of fear.

He shouted racial slurs. He threw objects. Students dropped to the floor because they believed he was reaching for a gun. He was later seen holding an aerosol can and a lighter.
Police took him into custody, and he was hospitalized for signs of mental distress. He is expected to face charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and vandalism, and will be trespassed from campus. The Orange County District Attorney will determine whether hate crime charges apply.

The university did not issue a campus-wide alert, saying there was no ongoing threat once he was detained. Students have questioned that decision, and how a man with no connection to the school got into a building that was locked.

🚨 NO CHARGES: Woman who shot an Army veteran dead over a Walmart parking spot is immune under Stand Your Ground.

BART DIGUGLIELMO, 62, retired staff sergeant and trauma nurse, was killed June 30 outside the North Lauderdale Walmart.

MELISSA PAYNE stayed on scene and said it was self-defense.

Video shows a parking-space argument, then one shot. He died at the hospital.

Broward prosecutors reviewed it and said Florida law gives her immunity. No charges.

A parking space. A dead veteran. A closed file.

Eight CAUCASIAN people in the U.S. have been charged for their involvement in an international child exploitation ring, according to Florida officials.

The group was allegedly led by Mehmet Berk Bozuyuk, a resident of Turkey, who is accused of transferring massive amounts of child s**ual abuse material (CSAM) to buyers. Florida authorities discovered the network after responding to an ad offering over 6 terabytes of material for $100.

Keith Lee's latest visit to Gary, Indiana is a reminder of what can happen when visibility turns into action and community answers the call.

After seeing residents of Gary struggling in the aftermath of the August 11 storms, Keith used his platform to bring attention and resources to the city. In just days, that call grew into a massive relief effort with 40+ food trucks, hundreds of volunteers, more than 10 companies and thousands of residents receiving food, cleaning supplies and other essentials.

Keith contributed $15,000 toward the effort, with Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton matching his donation for a combined $30,000. The Salvation Army, City of Gary, Ace Hardware and others also joined the effort.
