This booklet presents a simple and easy method of mantra-based meditation: think and listen to your mantra, while welcoming and forgetting anything else that comes to mind. With regular practice meditation can help promote well-being and fulfillment.

Not only do I suspect UFOlogy (and private revelations) to be the playground of demons (as instruments of self-deception) but I also sense how they *are* related to the occult, as conspiracy theories are symptomatic of the same pathology.
In many ways, UFO disclosure seems like a phenomena in the secular realm analogous to countdown-to-the-kingdom style obsession with private revelations in the Catholic sphere.
Steven Spielberg says his new movie, Disclosure Day, about aliens will have Christians and people of faith second-guessing their own religion.
Spielberg says the movie will take the position of the Church.
"Is God our God only on this planet, or is God a God for every system where there's civilization?"
"That would mess up a lot of people."
They seduce people into an all consuming echo chamber, unknown to normal society, while agitating a never-ending obsession in a bottomless rabbit hole, without firm ground to stand on, which never ultimately delivers, and even what it does deliver is perpetually unsatisfying.
I held it in my hand,
Until it bloomed and birthed—
This memory from my past—
Into what it’s worth.
I took this twinge of shame, and
Like making gold from led
Transformed it in my heart,
Into what could have been.
@kalezelden I'm usually anti-AI, but I think an AI that thinks Catholics are supposed to believe in what the Magisterium will have more good effects than bad.
“The whole modern world is at war with the nature of man, and it calls this war ‘progress.’ It breaks the tools of the soul and then wonders why the soul no longer works.”
— G. K. Chesterton
I'll never forget the time I spent with a young Down Syndrom woman and her nomadic family in Mongolia. She pulled her load as much as anyone else, but constantly cheerful, always happily busy with household chores. To hell with modern civilization if it can't be made to fit them.
@SteveSkojec Sometimes people aren’t dismissed for reasons, but leaders are waiting for a reason to dismiss someone they don’t want.
I would imagine the cardinal doesn’t want any exorcist for his archdiocese.
@jordanbpeterson@dr_mcgilchrist As Chesterton said, “The mad man has not lost his reason, he has lost everything but his reason.”
That is a mystically profound, and miraculously accurate aphorism to which I must dedicate my life.
I cannot understand why our how… but that is a locus of my mission.
My father has some cluster A personality disorder that involves paranoid delusions: PPD, Delusional Personality Disorder, Paranoid Schizophrenia, etc.
This may offend some, but his paranoid delusions have been exacerbated by marijuana use.
I can’t fathom a more profound conversation related to this formative experience with my father, and the path of my life which brought me through the “cloud of unknowing” seeking a firm foundation for mental health.

Spiegleman seems to define self esteem as: blaming others when bad things happen.
Of course, there’s problems with that, but there is some truth to it.
And his theory of learned optimism constellates this kind of self esteem as integral to resilience.
He’s not wrong!!!
