Slippery Sir Starmer ducking and weaving over his statement that the SNP would have a mandate for a Scottish independence referendum if they won in the Scottish Parliament 2021. Beth Rigby the interviewer in September 2020.
Scotland has the lowest level of child poverty across the nations and regions of the UK.
Far too much of the block grant the Scot Gov gets back is spent mitigating cruel polices inflicted on us by the UK gov in Westminster.
We could do so much better as an independent country.
Thing is, all they've got is the "once-in-a-generation" thing...and a lot of easily disprovable snash about "Scotland as a failed State"...when folk in England can see perfecrtly well that their own NHS and Welfare State are in a state of slow motion collapse...
“Real live examples” of Labour suspending 2 Edinburgh Labour Cllrs who refused to vote Tories into administration in Edinburgh- Lab MP👇
An administration built on nothing but a burning hatred of @theSNP, not really the progressive platform our residents voted for….
Refreshingly frank (and politically devastating) from a Labour MP about her party’s priorities in Scotland:
“Only last week, we (@ScottishLabour) suspended two Labour councillors in Edinburgh because they weren’t prepared to vote for the Tories over the SNP”
An article about my @curriechs motion backed by @FionaCllr receiving support from Greens, Lib Dems and in the end Labour
We can’t compromise on educational, community and environmental standards for this facility there for generations to come:

.@EdinburghSNP keen to press on with #shorttermlets licensing to stop huge numbers of homes being used for #Airbnb.
Sadly Labour voted with Tories & LDs to block @NeilCllr's motion to get City Plan, which will help deliver those powers, on track ASAP. https://t.co/OyLhWuyoNk
And there we have it.
Voting on motion 8.23 confirms what the Deputy Lord Provost stated earlier at Edinburgh Full Council: this administration is a Labour-led majority coalition with the Tories and LibDems.

We will never leave a community behind. Today I submitted a motion to full council and worked cross party to secure emergency funding @DrylawNC & we had an amendment to save @CentrePrentice & asked for a review of neighbourhood centres across the city. Both were passed #teamsnp

Thanks for seconding the motion @CllrChasBooth
consultation complete, the period of representation finished.
We now needed to move forward to protect the Greenbelt and address Short Term Lets.
I’m was delighted to work with @NeilCllr on a motion at #edincouncil today to try to speed up the process for City Plan 2030 to be approved.
New powers in the City Plan are essential to tackle holiday lets, improve energy efficiency & protect green belt.

Deeply disappointing that Labour w support fr Lib Dems & Tories have voted to delay City Plan. This will mean more STLs get approved in the city, w subsequent impact on housing costs. 😔
Several councillors asked for the application to be continued for Network Rail (the applicant) to negotiate improvements with council.
Unfortunately it was voted down
