A French film explaining what would happen if non whites did what angry white racists want them to do by going back to where they came from. Absolutely sublime. We need this sort of creativity here.
@robstaton@tobyfoster Best film I’ve seen in many years but I must say the audiobook if even better (with more time to explain how they learned to communicate with each other)
I've done a couple of events supporting homeless charities, and I absolutely agree that nobody should have to sleep rough. But we also need to be honest about the reality: some people offered accommodation simply don’t want to move into it. £442m is significant, but getting everyone off the streets requires more than providing beds, it requires understanding why some refuse them and finding solutions that actually work.
@Nigel_Farage Please, tell us about all the questions that you’ve raised in Parliament about this local constituent.
Oh wait, that’d require you actually attending parliament and not just using a sick boy for your own gain, wouldn’t it?
As you hear the latest news of Tory greed and corruption from the Covid inquiry, don’t forget that we had THREE pandemic preparedness exercises, the biggest, exercise Cygnus, in 2016.
Findings showed the UK was scarily unprepared for a pandemic. The Tories didn’t just fail to act on the findings they refused to fully participate in the exercise including making life or death decisions.
Ultimately, they favoured ideological austerity over replenishing stockpiles. Four years later Covid hit and instead of acting fast they thought about how their donors and mates could profit as our NHS workers used fucking BIN BAGS while attending to patients.
To add insult to injury the fuckers partied and got coked off their tits in Westminster as millions died and suffered in isolation.
Never forget what those scumbags did.
If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...
"I'm protecting the country from these fucking Muslim bastards raping our young daughters" said a white Scottish man arrested after 5 people were stabbed in Edinburgh.
I’ll fucking say it, this is on Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe.
British Muslim Rizwan Javed, who works for Transport for London on their tube network, achieved an MBE for saving 29 people who tried to end their lives.
He deserves a lot of praise and respect. A lovely man. I’m very proud of him.
The World Cup starts tonight! ⚽️ But by the end of the first match, we’ll be one man down.
Someone dies by suicide in our country every 90 minutes. Three-quarters of these are men.
I spoke with Luke the co-founder of @andysmanclubuk about male suicide, mental health and the help that is out there. 👇
Andy's Man Club is an incredible organisation that helps men across Britain open up, talk about what is going on in their lives, and help one another. I have been to sessions in my constituency and was overwhelmed by the support they can offer men dealing with all sorts of problems in their lives - small or large.
In each session, a football is passed around the group to share thoughts, challenges, and successes. Simple, but effective and liberating!
As a government, we take mental heath - and men's mental health - seriously. We published England’s first Men's Health Strategy last year, which committed further funding for suicide prevention programmes, recognising that suicide is one of the biggest killer of men under 50.
We are investing £3.6 million in community based suicide prevention projects - and supporting the @premierleague Together Against Suicide initiative with @samaritans.
And this is a challenge for all of us, not just government. As a society we can do more to encourage men to open up, get the weight off their shoulders. That is a key part of our Men and Boys work led by @DavidLammy - amplifying the issues, assuring folk there is help out there.
Enjoy the football, look out for one another, and know there is support out there!
