@GenePark Thank you! please mention that this is the way that libraries can let people borrow games. Until ESA stops lobbying against digital borrowing on platforms like Hoopla and Libby. All other mediums allow digital borrowing. Maybe you can help bring attention with your platform!
@Trevornoah@AguilarX And please remind people that public libraries carry physical video games too! This is a multi-layered issue that is way deeper than “it’s still there digitally”
@ROS5IHD@PlayStation Not the same at all, there are different storefronts for music, Sony has one place to purchase games and that’s it. Music, ebooks, audiobooks, comics all have ways to borrow digitally from the library, video games don’t allow that at all.
@KabiPlays I don’t like this take for one reason, switch 1 had codes in a box, switch 2 has fixed that with GKCs. At least now we can borrow from public libraries or from other people. It’s a solution to a problem that Xbox and Sony don’t care about. Nintendo could have done the same.
@PlayerEssence That means no more borrowing/lending or selling used games. One digital storefront. At least Nintendo found a solution with the GKCs, which I get from the public library all the time. Anti-consumerism at its finest.
@JeffFavignano This is such a bad take. There is no physical form to borrow from a friend or a public library. Music can still be borrowed from public libraries digitally, ebooks, anything but video games. Also cds/dvds aren’t locked to one platform like Sony games. One storefront.
@ModernVintageG Not just that prefer physical, but those of us who get games from the public library are left out to dry. There will be no ways to try games, borrow games, or lend games
@Bill_unplugged@NintyPrime This is not the same. I can get game key cards from the library and try them out. If it is only digital then there is no way to try out a game, borrow or lend a game.
@Nintendeal I keep saying it, the fact that we have this makes it so we can borrow these games from the library as opposed to just a download. I think it’s a great compromise, and yes, I absolutely prefer full physical, but this makes it so more games can be borrowed and enjoyed.
