अयोध्या में ‘चढ़ावे-चंदे-दान-शिला चोरी’ की घटना के बाद से यहाँ आनेवाले दर्शनार्थियों की संख्या पर नकारात्मक असर पड़ा है। लोगों की आस्थाएँ खंडित हुई हैं। इसका सीधा असर अयोध्या के स्थानीय काम-कारोबार और आम आदमी की आमदनी पर पड़ा है। सरकार की गलती का ख़ामियाज़ा जनता क्यों भुगते।

अयोध्या और आस-पास के सभी क्षेत्रों में भयंकर आक्रोश पनप रहा है। इस पावन सनातनी तीर्थ की शुचिता जिन भाजपाइयों और उनके संगी-साथियों की वजह से कलुषित हुई है, वो अपना कारनामा करके सदैव की तरह भूमिगत हो गये हैं। अस्पष्टता के कारण वातावरण और भी शंकापूर्ण व तनावपूर्ण हो गया है। स्थानीय लोग मंदिर जाने से भी घबरा रहे हैं कि कहीं उनको ही जाँच के नाम पर फँसा न दिया जाए। श्रद्धालुओं में एक अज्ञात भय व्याप्त हो गया है। जाँच कहाँ तक पहुँची इसकी डेली ब्रीफिंग होनी चाहिए क्योंकि भाजपा सरकार में हो रहे ‘चतुर्दिक महा-भ्रष्टाचार’ के कारण जनता का SIT तक पर रत्ती भर भी विश्वास नहीं है।

मथुरा से भी आई धांधली की ख़बर बेहद गंभीर है, उसकी भी उच्च स्तरीय विश्वसनीय जाँच हो।
