To anyone who wished they could go to church today.
Anyone who did go and doesn't know how to help.
Anyone who can't reconcile their decision to leave or stay in their faith.
Anyone who can't make out their own spiritual needs and values from those of others.
This one's for you.
We couldn't be happier/more relieved to announce that I, Lord is now ARTS COUNCIL FUNDED!
It’s been a heckuva road. But survivors of spiritual and/or faith-based trauma deserve to be heard, and we weren’t going to stop until we got that platform.

@ReshapersCIC I'm violently ill today - can barely get out of bed to throw up - and I never get ill. Last time anything like this happened I was under severe stress from mental health hospital institutional abuse. Just saying...! Solidarity ✊
A year ago today, we performed 'Milestones' for one night only. Today, we celebrate by making the full play available to watch on our website!

@turtleandturtle I often think that if I had been able to finish my degree I might have become someone who waits around for stuff to come to me rather than having to make stuff happen. And I certainly wouldn't have as strong a sense of purpose as I do now.
With 4 days until our 1st ever core group session, we're reflecting on the common mistakes in practice around trauma, preparing ourselves to start differently, & continuing to learn!
Our latest blog post shares what we think the biggies are. Do you agree?

Thank you @our_MoH for hosting our 3rd Associates Leaders cohort first meet up. We enjoyed your bespoke arts leadership trauma workshop & @nellhardyactor ran a creative session of object stories from their collection. She also shared what it was like being on the programme. 💫
@ReshapersCIC@Rgt71Robert@NewStatesman@churchofengland@synod This is where I don't totally agree that apologising to keep one's integrity intact is sufficient. That's all still about the perpetrator. Letting the survivor control the narrative, absolutely; but accepting they can't make amends? Only if they still do whatever they can to try.
@thevicarswife@ReshapersCIC@ChurchTimes@GenSyn I'm one of the survivors sending in feedback on the CCM, and one of the main points I'm making is that I want to see more detail on what makes something a grievance, misconduct or serious misconduct. Is that what you mean by code of practice?
But that's an extreme example. Putting a year's time limit on going through a complaints process shows a complete lack of awareness of how trauma works, let alone the practical risks involved in complaining (which are many, with countless nuances for different circumstances).
So glad to see @ChurchTimes drawing attention to this. The executive power of one person to decide if I had "good reason" not to complain within a year of misconduct, and to do so with misogyny and ableism, was the final straw of me not being able to return to the CofE.
In my case, my "good reason"s included not knowing misconduct was happening (he was covering up the abuse I had reported to him and as far as I knew I was patiently waiting for an outcome), and being homeless and hospitalised therefore unable to access Internet and info freely.
