And this scene is even more epic for those of us who have loved Joyce from the beginning.
She's finishing off Vecna, making him pay with every blow for all the pain she and her family suffered.
And in the background, Blurred but visible, is the person for whom she stood up for everything, letting his mother defend him one last time.
It was an epic ending because, despite him not being in the main shot, it was understood that absolutely everything Joyce did, she did for him.
And it's also indirectly a way of showing and reaffirming that it all started with him.
Those camera and character positions aren't random because, as I said, for those of us who have been fans of the series from the beginning, seeing that and understanding why they did it that way is simply epic.
