Not to change the subject from burritos but when I was earning poverty wages in my 20s I used to go to Subway nearly every day and get a footlong Italian sub for 5 dollars. It was generally the only big meal I would eat in a day.

If I was hungry later at night, I could always swing by McDonald’s and grab a chicken sandwich for a dollar.

All of these people are screaming about “eating at home” but I basically never made meals at home in those days and I was able to get by. You used to be able to survive on low wages without making meals from scratch. If that’s not possible anymore then it’s a sign that our standard of living is declining. That’s a problem. You should care about that.

Anyway, I went to a Subway recently and that same sandwich was 13 dollars. McDonald’s, of course, doesn’t sell anything for a dollar anymore.

The conservatives on here denying the affordability crisis are engaged in what I can only describe as an act of political suicide. They're also lying, which is the worst part. Grocery prices are up. Housing. Energy. Insurance. Health care. Basic living expenses. It's real. It's happening. Denying it just makes you look out of touch, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It's also a completely unnecessary and unforced error. No credible person is claiming that Trump caused these price surges. You don't have to disgrace yourself by denying the reality in front of your face just to prove your loyalty to Trump. The causes for the most part are multi faceted, complicated, and longstanding. That's true. So let's discuss them. Debating whether the problem exists at all -- or, if it does exist, whether it counts as a problem -- is a total waste of time, and makes you look like a shill and a fraud.

⚡️ Joe Kent says he, Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie are hoping to build a new political movement or third party built around opposition to U.S. wars, AIPAC, and corporate money, with the initial goal of fielding a candidate for the 2028 presidential campaign.

In an interview with Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks, Kent said the group met at Carlson’s home in Maine after concluding that both major parties repeatedly deliver “another war in the Middle East” regardless of how Americans vote.

Kent said they may follow the 2028 presidential run with down-ballot races, and acknowledged ballot-access hurdles may force them to run an insurgent candidate through an existing party instead.

“We don’t want Israel dictating our foreign policy. We don’t want any more foreign wars. We don’t want to have to run a massive empire,” he said.

Kent said the group has urged Carlson to run but he has repeatedly declined. They will seek to finance the effort through grassroots donations rather than corporate PACs. “The second you start taking the corporate PAC money… you’re not truly in charge anyways.”

On JD Vance, Kent said he still personally likes him but called him “a captive of the two-party system” who will struggle to ask voters to trust him in 2028 after defending Trump’s war.

I couldn’t agree more.

Watching people sit in Charlie Kirk’s podcast studio, using Charlie Kirk��s name, while saying and doing the exact opposite of what Charlie stood for is hard to watch. It is a complete hijacking of a name, a voice, a platform and a movement.

Instead of building their own platform, they took over the one Charlie spent years building. Charlie believed in free markets, hard work, and EARNING what you have in life. He built his platform from the ground up alongside his true friend @RealCandaceO.

Seeing what’s happened since his murder, I understand why it’s so painful for Candace to watch the complete takeover and hijacking of what her and her friend created. She was right there when Charlie was on the road 350 days a year, pouring everything he had into building a movement he believed could make America better.

Candace helped build it long before many of the deceitful, opportunistic people now claiming to represent it ever came into Charlie’s life. It’s hard to watch a movement built through years of sacrifice be taken over by people who act like spoiled- rotten, entitled trust-fund heirs instead of leaders who earned what they have and what they built- themselves.

Charlie deserves justice.
