Accurate information is vital for successful elections and vibrant democracies, but Nigeria's 2023 general election saw a surge of false claims from political party spokespersons and influencers. These falsehoods, often aimed at swaying voters or inciting violence, were not new for some individuals.
Prominent figures like Femi Fani-Kayode, Dino Melaye, Festus Keyamo, Charles Oputa (Charly Boy), Adamu Garba, and Reno Omokri stood out for their actions.
This thread highlights their roles and encourages the public to approach their social media claims with skepticism.

@hesAyoAjiboye@the_ccij@SotSideris@ajibolaamzat Hi, Ayo. Witnessing actual change from an investigation is the biggest impact goal. Start small. How many reposts/republications did the story get? Most importantly, was it able to spark conversation around the issue especially with the target audience? #CCIJAskTheJournalists.
@ISemiloore@the_ccij@SotSideris@ajibolaamzat Hello Ige, I'm Nelly, journalist and CCIJ's project manager. Collaboration between journalists brings about unique angles and an expanded view of the story. It also reveals the interconnection within the problem that the investigation can then address. #CCIJAskTheJournalists
