A’ja Wilson has 4 gold medals, about to be 7 MVPS (including international), and 3 championships.
You shouldn’t have to beg people to respect a woman that accomplished.
If she wants to prioritize her health instead of FIBA like Maya Moore and Elena Delle Donne once did, cool.
I feel pretty let down by the fact that I grew up believing terrible people would face consequences for doing terrible things, and yet, that is precisely the opposite of what is happening in the world.
this generation have normalized internet asthetics so much that yall forgot what reality actually is…..it’s ok to have regular teeth, it's ok to have a lil stomach, it’s ok to work a 9-5, it’s ok to live within your means, it’s ok to drive a paid off car for years, and it’s ok to move at your own pace. the internet will NEVER take my reality from me, my peace matters more than pretending.
"They Let That Young Woman Suffer Years of Racism": WNBA Journalist Cites Angel Reese Hate For Enabling WNBA Fan Behavior in Fever Games https://t.co/AkFWohEyuG
So like… I’ve been really quite on the Enis Kanter stuff…
but
The WNBA does test for synthetic testosterone and natural testosterone as part of their drug testing… and from my understanding uses the Olympic guidelines for what “normal” levels are…
You test outside of the normal you get suspended for 20 games… then they test you again and you get suspended for a season… then they test you again and you get expelled…
The league has an awesome therapy and help program for people who fail the tests, but the rules are black and while. Any artificial testosterone, you’re suspended, abnormal natural testosterone, you’re suspended.
This entire talking point is so tiring because unless people are taking hormone blockers… the WNBA drug policy will kind of keep things competitively fair…
Oh also most of the hormone blockers are also on the banned list… as are all of the steroid maskers, and diuretics to fool tests blockers or drugs…
Heck if you want to take ADHD meds you need like multiple doctors letters and an independent panel of physicians rules on if they can.
It just feels like this is a lot of time spent talking about a person that theoretically would just get suspended and then expelled for blood test failures.
Also the full drug policy can be found in the CBA, as is the list of banned substances, penalties for failure. People can find the Olympic guidelines in their rule book as well…
If anyone wants to talk about the actual game, or needs a pod guest to talk about this league exploding in popularity, my DMs are always open.
I’m pretty open over the FIBA break.
So here’s my take. When I started out mascots were mostly seen as corky & jockey and weren’t mainstream beyond sports. I wanted to CHANGE that. So seeing the fruits of extremely HARD work, consistency, creativity, innovation, and proof of concept gives me Gratitude. #EllieVation
Thats the bottom line.
You were illegally profiting off my name and I was nice and let you. Now I feel like you don't respect/appreciate me so you won't profit off my name anymore unless you pay me.
The end.
I remember asking assistant coach Mo Cheeks, what’s harder to do? Workout after practice or before?? I only asked cuz by time I would get to the gym, Russ was already done in the morning and I usually got mine in after practice. Mo like, “coming in before practice is probably harder”…since then, it’s been my routine….a lot of people looked at the emotions on the court and thought Russ was loud, nah to me, he was quiet and methodical. He lead by example and once the lights were bright, he let everything out and experienced pure freedom. It was inspiring as his teammate and everywhere I went, I seen it inspire people from all walks of life, crazy thing is, he didn’t say much, he just showed up. For 18 years. This basketball life is sacred to us as professionals, what we put into that court means everything. Some of us wish we could go back and do things with a little more intent and some can just wipe their hands and be satisfied with the time spent. Who u gonna be? We know what zero was on…keep inspiring in the next phase of life champ. I don’t care what happens, can’t erase what it was…The first YNs, finals run in our early 20s, all star games, seeing each other get injured and bounce back, the bus rides, plane rides, card games, jokes and arguments, the whole thing, memorable!! …to the whole Westbrook family, Nina, the kids, mama Westbrook, big Russ, Ray, Donnell, everybody from luezinger high and ucla and many more that I’m forgettin, much love and Congratulations on a iconic career.
Ever since 2023, when a Black girl had the audacity to pop her shit after a championship win, privilege and disparity have been running rampant through this league. I'm still coming up with examples. She said what she said and she wasn't wrong. Period 🤷🏾♀️
Man I feel bad for diehard WNBA fans. At a time where their league is blossoming, here come grifters trying to use the league's rising popularity to push their agendas and line up their pockets from their cult members.
I’ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege (that was your assumption). Try exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I’m the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on “white privilege”, do ya research on that one. I actually went to school, one of the top universities might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it.
Angel Reese has arenas selling out, filled with celebs and decked out in Barbie pink while playing some of her best basketball so you know they gone work overtime to try to dim her light. It’s impossible babes 😂😮💨 GET USED TO IT.
