Dear Men,
You show up for everyone around you. It’s time to show up for yourself, too.
You answer every call. You hold things together when they are falling apart. You are the steady one, the strong one, the one everyone leans on when things get difficult.
And you do it well.
But somewhere along the way, you slowly move yourself to the bottom of the list, maybe even off it entirely. Yet you need the same energy you pour into everything and everyone you care about. You deserve that same commitment.
Prioritizing your mental health is not selfish. It is not weakness. And it is not stepping away from your responsibilities.
It is what allows you to stay. It allows you to keep showing up, more present, more grounded, more whole.
The people around you don’t just need your presence. They need you. Not the version that keeps going, but the one that is also thriving.
So this June, as we are in Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, allow yourself to give a little of what you give to others back to yourself.
Start small. Speak to someone you trust. Take a moment to check in with yourself the way you check in on everyone else. Pay attention to what you have been ignoring.
You have always known how to show up. Now it is time to show up for the most important person in your life, YOU.

“Confronting historical responsibilities requires real courage, because it generates fierce opposition by those with a case to answer. You need a strong sense of humanity to see it through. President Macron, I want to commend you on both counts: courage and humanity.
You acknowledged that France could have stopped the genocide, but did not. In response, I described your words as something more valuable than an apology: namely, the truth. This door was first opened by President Nicolas Sarkozy, and I wish to commend him today.
The Genocide against the Tutsi was foreseeable, and in fact foreseen, and France was in a unique position to observe and to act. It took too long for France to come to terms with its role, causing additional pain. And on some points, we still have not found consensus. I fully understand the feelings of those survivors and advocates, who remain dissatisfied with the official record. But I believe that our common work has initiated a journey towards truth, which is irreversible.
And France was not alone in falling short, far from it. Many other countries did so as well, but none has gone as far as France in setting the record straight and accepting its part in the tragedy.” President Kagame | Inauguration of Monument in Paris honouring the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
Ce mémorial en hommage aux victimes du génocide perpétré contre les Tutsi au Rwanda est un lieu vivant. Il cultive la mémoire et projette vers l'avenir la relation entre le Rwanda et la France.

Every September, the world comes together to mark #SuicidePreventionMonth. It's a time to raise awareness, break the stigma, and remind one another that hope and help are always within reach.
Understanding suicide is an important first step, but awareness alone is not enough. We must also learn how to recognize the warning signs so that we can support those around us who may be struggling in silence.
Suicide is rarely a sudden decision. For many, it follows a period of inner turmoil where subtle signals may be expressed through words, behaviors, or changes in daily habits. By learning to notice these signs, we equip ourselves with the power to intervene early and show compassion when it’s needed most.
✳️Emotional and Verbal Signs.
A person who is considering suicide may express deep feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, or worthlessness. They may say things like “I don’t see a way out,” or “Everyone would be better off without me.”Sometimes these statements come disguised as jokes, but they can be genuine cries for help.
✳️Behavioral Changes.
Pay attention to sudden shifts in behavior. Someone who once enjoyed spending time with friends might withdraw from social circles. They may give away personal belongings, engage in reckless activities, or neglect responsibilities at school or work. These changes, though subtle at times, can signal a deeper struggle.
✳️Daily Life and Physical Cues
Suicidal thoughts can also manifest in daily habits. Disturbed sleep patterns, changes in appetite, or a noticeable decline in personal care may all be indicators that something is wrong. While each of these on their own may not mean much, taken together, they can paint a concerning picture.
✳️Recognizing these signs is only the beginning!
When we see them, we must respond with care, courage, and compassion. Starting a simple, open conversation can be life-changing: “I’ve noticed you’re not yourself lately—do you want to talk about it?” Listening without judgment and encouraging professional help can offer a vital lifeline.
✳️Suicide is preventable!
By educating ourselves, creating safe spaces for open conversations, and extending compassion to those in pain, we can change the narrative from silence to hope. Each of us has the power to be a source of light in someone’s darkest moment.
💛 If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a trusted professional or contact a crisis hotline.

Let’s Talk Men’s Mental Health!
Many of us hit the gym to build muscle, but when was the last time you trained your mind?
In a world that still tells men to “man up” and stay silent, it’s time we rewrite that script. Real strength isn’t about hiding your emotions; it’s about self-awareness, seeking support, and showing up fully.
✅ Talk it out with a friend, a mentor, or a counselor. Bottling up emotions doesn’t make you stronger. It builds pressure. Speaking up brings clarity, connection, and healing.
✅ Move your body; physical activity isn’t just for gains; it boosts mental clarity, reduces stress, and helps you sleep better.
✅ Rest and recharge – your peace of mind is as essential as your performance. Protect it.
Ask yourself:
Am I always angry or overwhelmed?
Am I sleeping poorly?
Am I withdrawing from people?
Am I just “pushing through” without pause?
If any of these ring true, it might be time to prioritize your mental fitness.
Let’s normalize mental strength the same way we celebrate physical gains. Because strong minds build healthy lives.

What does it take to move beyond good intentions and build compassionate, supportive workplaces?
This panel explored how we can bridge the gap between policy and practice, and why cultivating empathy, peer support, and mental wellbeing must be embedded in workplace culture.
Too often, mental health is seen as something distant, shameful, or only relevant during a crisis. But the truth is: mental health is something we all have, and it plays a vital role in how we live, learn, work, and connect with others.
