Apparently this is yet another joy of deregulation. The @FCC stopped requiring cable cards so the 141000 people using them today are SOL.

Just got an email that @GetSpectrum is dropping support for Cable Cards, which means I would no longer be able to use my DVR. This could very well result in me dropping cable entirely since I have no interest in paying for their inferior DVR every month.
